For decades, we’ve relegated alien encounters to the realm of conspiracy, dismissing those who’ve seen the unexplainable. Now congressional hearings on UFOs bringing revelations from whistleblowers about clandestine Pentagon programs and major journalistic institutions confirm that...we are not alone.
ENCOUNTERS, executive produced by Amblin Television, Emmy-winning Boardwalk Pictures and Vice Studios, and directed by Yon Motskin (Generation Hustle), is a landmark four-part series that travels the globe to explore four extraordinary true stories of encounters with otherworldly phenomena. Each cinematic and deeply-researched episode tells a single story: strange lights in the sky over small-town Texas; submersible space crafts haunting a coastal Welsh village; an alien encounter in a schoolyard in Zimbabwe; non-human intelligence reportedly interfering with a nuclear power plant in Japan.
As told from the perspective of firsthand experiencers - in the places where the sightings occurred - and guided by cutting-edge scientists and military personnel, the series goes beyond the science to highlight the profoundly human impact of these encounters on lives, families, and communities. A timely and timeless cosmic detective story, what will be revealed from this puzzle of seemingly unrelated encounters across different places, times and cultures is a set of uncanny similarities, and one astonishing truth: Extraterrestrial encounters are global, awe-inspiring, and unlike anything we’ve ever imagined.

The ocean looks pretty empty when you examine only it's two dimensional surface. When you look at the ocean in three dimensions and account for depth, then you realize there is an abundance of life in the ocean. When we observe the universe in three dimensions we are looking at something like it's surface. If we could perceive more than three dimensions in space we would realize that it too is full of life. We are limited to seeing only the surface of the universe, as if looking only at the surface of the ocean.

Please i studied this for many years and research ot every day im telling you this is a film made off of classified intelligence. To coax humanity in a direction of someone's choosing. I can promise you this my friend. Spielberg announced this not long ago and its near ready or ready now? These stories he shows if there is more I formation that what researchers have been able to show it is FOR SURE INTELLIGENCE of higher powers feeding it. Do not please follow their narrative. Think openly. And trust your gut. Ppl may comment im some nit job but im telling you something is up. And coming to a end or a deadline so this is why the goverment is open to this stuff now. Its a sea of lies and deception and a journey I wish upon no one as its brain racking but I between the lies and deception there is hidden truths that can be found. Please think before you trust just because it's Spielberg does not make it true. I am a working class tradesman with a family of 4. No dumbads or looser but I can swear something is in the works. Manu theories and with each day the mainstream news eliminates some theories with more info they release and nothing has went so fast as this topic in the past 30 years. I'm telling you its not right. There may be alot of truth but the narrative and where it.leada north America mainly will be to their benefit not ours.

Siberia. New Year Eve 2002 (time something between 12.30am and 1am). There were no street lights in the area where my parents lived so I was walking on a dark street after meeting with my friends when I felt like I was being watched from behind. I turned around, looked up and I saw a small yellowish white light ball that was moving slowly towards me. It was not very high up and if I was to throw a rock at it I would've probably hit it (except as there were no rocks but a thick layer of snow everywhere). I froze for a moment and as the light continued moving towards me I instinctively made a few steps to the side and so the light ball moved as if it was mocking me. I moved to the other side and so the ball moved too. The decision to run came to my head straight away so I ran towards the closest house and while I was running towards the gate I was praying for that gate to be open (most people in Siberia have solid house fences and they lock them at night). The gate was open, so I ran to the house entrance and knocked on the door to say something stupid like 'Happy New Year' to a person who opened the door. Embarrassed, I came back on the road. The light ball was gone. I told this story to my friends and they didn't believe me so I kept it to myself. Many years later I realised that it was a very special moment and I got to experience something that not many people experience. Yes, it was terrifying and not a pleasant experience but now I know in my heart that we are not alone. I witnessed this phenomenon, I saw it myself..

My teacher also told me a story where he was relaxing on a high building in the afternoon and a red light (as big as orange) is moving so fast towards him in like seconds from so far away to where he stood. He told me the red ball then dissapeared after hovering for a while in front of him. I always believed in him because if he wanted to make up a story, he'll just say he saw a UFO. But he said he saw a red ball instead. On the last part of the documentary it was also mentioned that people in Fukushima can see a fireball hovering around where people had died. And now I see your comments. I believe you

Hopefully this docu series, advocates for the victims. Victims, only because of the gov denying their experiences and covering-up their encounter... making them feel so isolated, to suffer in silence for so long. Terrible. I wish every episode ended in a plea from each person the ep focuses on, asking for declassification of the data/file they know the gov has on their case. E.g., " I urge the U.S. government declassify the 1994 Ariel School Yard Encounter case file..." and it would just be a montage of like dozens of the witnesses/victims.. demanding it. By the end of the series we would be able to compile soooo many voices from so many different cases, that together would send a rather powerful message to the public and gov! Why is there a common denominator within all these cases of gov cover-up?! WHERE ARE THESE CASE FILES!? We DEMAND them!

I used to be a bit of a sceptic about UFO’s until a year back when I was in the local park with my kid and he said "look at that bright star in the sky"..now it was in the middle of the afternoon on a bright clear blue sunny day and just as I said that's not a star, it started moving then stopping and I realised I didn't know what the hell I was looking at as it changed shape from a sphere to a square, it was shiny chrome and rotating and moving in various directions (even against a light wind) it was too far away and high to be a drone, it also had a smaller one appear outside it and circle it for a bit before going inside it, we could see it really clear with our own eyes and I tried to record it on my phone but it's too faint to get a good look at it (I've uploaded three clips of it on my KZfaq channel), the whole event lasted about 8 minutes and about 7 other people in the park all stood and watched it.. Very odd.

my sister was feeding her horse around 2 p.m.. It was an overcast day in the summer as she was finishing up, she felt like she was being watched from behind. She turned around and across the field about 50 yards over a large pond she saw three spherical dull metallic objects in formation just hovering 30 ft above the pond. She said she just froze trying to understand what was actually happening. The scary part was as soon as she snapped out of it and understood what was going on two of the three shot straight up and the third crossed the pond slowly directly toward her. She dropped everything ran to her truck and booked out of there . Before she got to the main road her truck died for a moment and then she was able to start it up again with no problems. If anyone is about to say "Well it was an old truck" think again, this was a brand new 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty with the paper tags still on it, for anyone that doesn't know these trucks have two batteries, before that day or after she never had the truck go dead in the middle of operation.

My dad flew fighter jets for the Air Force as a Navigator for over a decade back in the 1960s and 1970s until he became the head of the NAV school for the rest of his career. (He was in the Air Force for 40 years.) He said that UFOs were very common amongst the squadrons. No one he knew ever saw an actual spaceship close-up to be able to see details, but they “locked in” on many many UFOs over the years. They would try to catch up to them or just keep them in their radar, but the UFOs would fly away so fast and literally disappear off radar. They weren’t spoken about with the general public of course, so as not to cause mass hysteria. Anyhow, great series, we really loved it and hope they give us more episodes.

In 1995, I had a girlfriend who told me about a weird experience she had (when she was about 11 years old) in Boulder, Colorado in the very early 80s when it was a tiny town up against the mountain. Her mom had woken her up and taken her to the window where they stood staring at a classic ufo literally resting on the ground at the base of the mountain in the middle of town. It was silver with a row of lights rotating around the center. They stood there for several minutes(?) in a sort of trance and the mother eventually said “let’s go to bed” while the UFO was clearly still there. The next morning the mom asked if she remembered. She said yes and the mom said “let’s not talk about that again”. She drew me what she remembered the craft looked like. She hadn’t talked to her mom about the experience since it happened. I dropped the subject. When her mom visited, I sat her down and asked her to tell me what happened back in Boulder. She hesitated, but then said she was driving back home from a party way on the other side of town when she saw the UFO at the base of the mountain and she freaked out! She drove like a crazy person way out of the way to avoid the UFO, then she came up to her house and just remembers getting her daughter and the two standing there and the rest is identical. I had her draw the craft and it was identical to what the daughter had drawn for me. So what was the UFO (and any possible occupants) doing in the center of that small town in the middle of the night? One can only imagine.

I know that we're not alone, and that there's bigger things, whatever those things are is really out there. It is something that must be seen through your own eyes, or else you will be seen as a cook. I don't blame whoever's kept their mouths shut, this is something that must be expirience in order to be understood..

Of course there are "things" out there. I mean.. I don't how to call them/it.. but Yes, there are. I am honestly a believer and I know as well that if I were to witnessed something I wouldn't tell.. the stigma and ignorence are crazy. Since I was a little girl I was looking for them in the sky, how come? I mean no one ever told me to or talked to me about it. I'm sure it's an instinct to look for someone else out there because you realise there is absolutely no way that we are the only ones.

The thing is that the scientific community is dying to find proofs of extraterrestrial life - they're investing a lot into things such as the Hubble telescope, the James Webb space telescope, SETI, Mars rovers, the Voyager program etc. - there's a thirst for knowledge about this vast universe and the mysteries it holds. The JWST itself is capable of far higher resolution images and also lots of sensors that allow us to better detect chemicals in exoplanets - some of those endeavours are also aimed at finding signs of life. When people have experiences and share them saying they're proof of aliens, the quality of that evidence (e.g. grainy videos and photos of lights in the sky and witness testimonies) and the lack of empirical evidence is what puts off scientists from taking these claims seriously. I am put off for the same reasons. I'm not saying that anyone is lying (some do, but I'm convinced most aren't), but there are often far more mundane explanations for those experiences than alien spaceships and extraterrestrial beings. The point is that nobody seems to be able to offer evidence that can withstand scientific scrutiny and rigor. And until they do, unfortunately witness testimonies can't be taken too seriously. Now it's also unfortunate that people who claim to have such experiences are being stigmatised, but I feel this is mostly from the media who are looking for conflict, rather than the scientific community or even regular folks that one meets in day to day life.

I'm glad they told details about the Ariel encounter that I've never heard before, like the Darrly guy who said he started a rumor and made all the kids 'think' they saw a ufo -- he seems like a messed up guy. I'm guessing he saw it and has either taken some money to say what he's saying, or that he can't deal with the reality. And then there's the head teacher who says she had been taken by aliens and even offered to leave with them. I felt sorry for Emma, being married to a man who still doesn't believe here. Also the guy who said a priest told him that nothing he saw as a kid is important. That's probably how priests have justified molesting young children.

7 years back I was driving down this dark, deserted highway when my car just suddenly died. I was freaking out, not knowing what to do, when this super bizarre, otherworldly thing landed right in front of me, like some sort of glowing orb. And next to it was this figure, tall and slender, with eyes that seem to pierce through the darkness. I start hearing these strange, eerie sounds coming from the trees. It was nothing I've ever heard before, not an animal, not the wind, just... creepy. What happened next will send shivers down your spine.

Now we're these real EVENTs? That is speculation, but the all the design and story elements are all ripped straight from UFO lore. So maybe you should do a little more research before popping off. Just a tip.

I woke up to what looked like a man, but different at my bedroom window. But I knew it couldn't have been a man because to stand at this window they would have had to be 10 feet tall. I panicked and ran to my mother's room and got into bed with her. She asked what was wrong and I lied. I said my then boyfriend was being a jerk and hanging out at my window. I didn't want her to think I was crazy. Mom would have gone out there and caused an interstellar incident!

@@tonyamartin1425 that's a bad argument and you can see why for yourself. The next time you see an airliner in the sky try to take a photo with your phone. It's difficult. If you do succeed the image will be blurry and low resolution due to the distance and the speed of the plane. Phones cameras are optimized for taking photos of people a few meters away and don't have optical zooms. Anything that far away and moving that fast won't be captured well. Now imagine doing that on something traveling significantly faster while you're in shock and disbelief. I'm not saying that the person in the original comment is telling the truth. I don't believe them. But to use the phone camera argument shows that you haven't really thought the situation through and just pushes believers further into the rabbit hole.

I saw a silver saucer shaped one when I was a kid in Puerto Rico. I was inside a car and I remember being so shocked, that I did not want to tell anyone else in the car because I thought it would scare them..

you did great with this one, keep doing it! I just wanted to take a moment to say how amazing your video was! I was really impressed with the quality of the footage, the editing, and the overall presentation. You did a great job of explaining the topic in a clear and concise way, and I learned a lot from watching your video.

Yep, loved the production of this doco series. Approached the topic in an interesting way. Really enjoyed the connection between encounters with nuclear facilities. Ways that different cultures, that is non-Western cultures, such as the Japanese consider non-material realities and identities etc. Also enjoyed the linkages to pre WWII sightings and folklore knowledge etc was really good as well. Hope they put out another series.

I once saw some bubbles. They looked like soap bubbles but they were flying unidirectionally, were not affected by the air and had a significant pace to them. It seemed they were being mechanically propelled.

You saw them in India?

I have seen something similar in the middle of the day. They were very large spherical, white orbs....many of them together very high up in the sky, flying in all kinds of directions and around one another. They did not operate like any kind of plane or weather balloon. They seemed to be flying around one another and then coming together and then parting again. It was very strange.

I saw an "object" in the sky over the Gulf of Mexico recently , twice. A few weeks ago , i was in my yard with a neighbor, and i noticed a multi-colored round or oval object floating right above the shoreline. It resembled those old Simon electronic games. But the clors kind of blended as they rotated. My neighbor said "its a star , cuz stars flicker" , but his son agreed with me , this was no star. Why am i certain? Because after an hour or so , it began slowly moving , without a sound. I was thinking maybe a drone? Satellite? Something from the Space Coast? But last week , i saw it again...same story. Weird.
