End Of An Era - The last runs of WMSR 734

Жыл бұрынIt's been seven years since the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad last operated Ex-LS&I 2-8-0 734 prior to the locomotives 1,472 inspection and fans of the iconic engine have certainty have missed "Mountain Thunder".
APSL produced this program in 2022 and is a re-edit of an original piece from 2019, however, it was not released due to unforeseen circumstances.
Now released, we hope that you enjoy the program as we remember our old friend fondly.

Someday, 734 will be back running through Maryland as it did between 1993-2016. For now, 1309 is in charge of the steam-powered runs as "Maryland Thunder" aka "The Beast of the East".

As someone who got into this hobby too late to see the 734 run in person, I most certainly look forward to the day she starts running up the nearly 1500ft climb to Frostburg again. Damn these videos make me jealous XD

All we can say is your missed quite the show every time the ole' girl ran up the mountain. Hopefully, the wait isn't too long before she is placed back into service.

Actual restoration has not commenced (to the best of our knowledge) and fundraising is still ongoing.
