Is it just me whose noticed or is it that almost all the time it’s the “nerds” or “unpopular” kids in school who always end up successful. I’m glad that they get their comebacks, and I was one of those kids too, I used to study about littering, global warming, pollution, and climate change a lot. I was called a tree hugger, but honestly I don’t even care because the harder I work at this, the more likely I’ll be able to get the required degrees to become an Environmental Scientist, it’s a fairly new job, and we need more people in the job!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. THE DESIGNS- EVERYTHING, IT'S ALL INCREDIBLE. And since everyone is sharing their toxic friends story, I think I'll do the same, except I don't know if this counts as toxicity or not. I'd been friends with this person since year 4, and very quickly I'd imagine I started to hang out with them way more than my other friends because I thought we were actually quite close. Up until around year 8, I think, was when they were actually a good friend. In year 8, their behaviour started changing but it was too slow for me to notice. That, or my first impression of them was that strong that I genuinely couldn't see those changes. I'd like you to be aware that from day one of us being friends I was on their side for everything. Literally everything. I *always* tried my best to help them on every single thing, even when I didn't feel like I could. This at the expense of my own mental health, and now I suffer with anxiety and struggle to see whether or not I'm really being selfish in anything, and I have to sometimes more than double triple check anything and everything. Timing all has to be perfect, and if it's not I could very easily have an anxiety attack unless it ends up being confirmed that it's all fine in my head. My social skills are absolutely shit and I constantly think that people are judging me and/or that my friends hate me even if everything points to them actually not. Hell, I've even had to ask my friends if they do just so I don't end up having an anxiety attack or breaking down crying because it's that difficult. I can't even stand up in front of classes or people or be one of the only people standing up because the feeling that everyone is watching me is that strong I don't know how to handle it. I got off topic- anyway. Year 8. I didn't find this out until a few months ago, that this "friend" talked shit about me behind my back and called me transphobic purely because I (a 13 year old at the time) said I wouldn't date a trans person, which is an opinion I have grown out of. All because of that they talked shit about me behind my back while continuing to hang out with me and "be my friend". I also found out that it was their fault the friend group we had from year 7 split up in year 9. Well, kind of. Every one of us that was in that group are still friends and we hang out again, but that didn't happen until year 11. We stopped being friends in year 10, and I will never forget the things they called me. I've got a list, I can name them all. Transphobic, lesbophobic (purely because I liked a tweet that THEY RETWEETED which was apparently a lesbophobic joke but I didn't know that) islamaphobic, which I've got no clue why they called me because I've literally never mentioned anything to do with Islam and my friends, who, by the way, are apart of that religion, are even confused by that. And honestly there is more but I don't remember. I was also called a "walking red flag" because my favourite aot character is eren, and I love the genshin character eula. There was also smth about how "I as a white person am using AAVE" which I did not know what the fuck that even was because I'd never even heard of it before then. I looked it up and the only part of AAVE i was apparently using was "simp" which I do think is ridiculous because it's a commonly used word by most people online. It's actually funny though, because they're even more pale than I am and think they have any room to "educate" me on what is and isn't racist. Something else from while we were still friends was also in year 10, but earlier in the year, I'm guessing it was probably about halfway through the year. In most of year 10, it was just us two hanging out, but then someone else joined us, and there was 3. This is why I can't stand being in a group of 3. Every break and lunch, me and my friend would be talking about whatever until this other person joined us. Which was only around 5-10 minutes at the most. As soon as he would join us, it would feel like they were acting like they were in a group of 2 instead of 3. I can't even begin to describe how lonely I felt because it was like I never had any input in the conversations. One time that specially stuck with me, was when there was 2 minutes of break left. I tried to tell them that we should go to lesson (the one we had was on the other side of the school) and I didn't just try once. I said multiple times, probably around 5 or 6, and I don't know if they were ignoring me or not but they just kept on with their conversation. Eventually I got fed up, and took my bag and walked off. When I turned around before leaving the room, they were still sitting where they were, and were giving me dirty looks as though I'd done something wrong. And surprise surprise, they were late to lesson and I was not. It's been over a year since we stopped being friends and honestly I feel so much happier. Even my family has said that I seem happier. So have my friends, and my ex-boyfriend who didn't even know me in year 10. To be fair, I didn't know him either, I think I only saw him one or two times. The funny thing is that this friend is the only person I have ever stopped being friends with, whereas they have lost pretty much everyone and only have a few people now. If I was really that much of a walking red flag or shit person, I would've lost so many more friends. It says more about them than it does me. I'm going into college now, year 11 has been over for just over a month, and I really couldn't be happier with my life now. My friend group now is so much better. There's little to absolutely no drama, it's honestly refreshing to finally have some peace from the drama after the years I somehow put up with it for. I'm really trying to improve myself now, because while me and this person were friends I started to slowly stop doing things that were basic hygiene. I couldn't find the energy to brush my hair, even my teeth, and I left the house so late that every single day I was about 2 minutes away from being late to school because I couldn't even find the energy to get out of bed. I still struggle with a lot of these things on occasion but it's much better than it was.

this happened to me! My old friend who I was really good friends with in kindergarten (first year of school, im australian). she was really nice and our dads worked together so we were really close. I wasnt very attractive in middle school and she was super pretty and constantly got asked out (meanwhile I was getting asked out as a dare), when we got older she got really bossy and stuck up and a pick me, (she also became extremely homophobic and transphobic and constantly misgendered and deadnamed me on purpose). then when we went to highschool I had a glow up and she wasnt the prettiest person in school anymore (Before we went to a very small school, all the years knew eachother, all the students knew every teacher) and i cut her off because i realised it was a toxic friendship. she came up to me in school the other day and started acting like we were best friends again, while deadnaming me infront of friends that didnt know my deadname. I told her to move on and that we werent friends and she went kinda frozen. It was the first time I had stood up to her.

Jenny and Sarah's friendship at the start was mainly Jenny being mean to Sarah ,but not leaving her behind when she gets popular and still keeping a connection with her, while at the end Jenny cut her off as soon as the popularity gets to her head in college. I would really like to know if I'm the only one who came to this conclusion(based on the song alone, not the video.) I don't have a problem with how Sarah acts at the end of the song. Personally, I saw it as Sarah never really having friends other than Jenny for most, if not all of her life. I don't think she exactly knows how a healthy relationship works. Jenny talked bad about her for years, but still called them best friends. I think Sarah was at least somewhat under the impression that that's how friendships work. So when she becomes the popular one, the dynamic switches, so Sarah follows Jenny's example and badmouths her. Jenny obviously knows that's not how friends are supposed to treat each other, so she breaks it off, leaving Sarah both hurt and confused. Jenny didn't bend the way Sarah always did, and was instead calling her out for behavior Jenny participated in for years. That's why Sarah sounds angry at the end. Though, this is all just my personal interpretation, no shame if you don't agree!

This happened to me in elementary school, it's a fake friend ship + this friendship- My friend and I were close in grade 1, but as time passes she became distant. Then we reached grade 5, and that's where she started using me for money. She said "Could you please buy this for me? my parents didn't give me money.." of course I agreed I'd known her for so long that happened day after another. Until she said she wanted to use the bathroom (we weren't on good terms at that time) she was going back while I excused myself, outside we bumped into each other I didn't apologize because I have my own reasons. When I got back, she crossed her arms and looks at me furiously, then the lesson started again as time passes I eventually looked at her. At the same time, her friend stood up and excused herself I saw her smirking which is a hint she did something not long after the principal came and called me to the office I saw her covering her mouth and looking away...then when the door was closing I got a glimpse of her she was laughing my eyes widened after being lectured I was sent back to the classroom, I went in front and apologized "Honestly" since then she's been a pick-me girl and an attention seeker. She's a teacher's pet if I'm being honest, she wasn't yelled at or lectured she also joined this with my other classmates who are good in math. But when we were partnered together she was bad at it, Like what's the point? but yeah. Next year I attended the 1-week school face to face, I saw her there looking surprised, I blossomed!
