God bless you this was driving me nuts as I kept watching one video after another showing different "solutions" - none worked of course because as you say, this is a nvidia driver issue and it only started happening about a month ago.

You're welcome 🫂 Glad it was fixed for you. I thought I was going crazy. Or the graphic card was failing, which would've cost me a bit of money. Had to really dig through Reddit specifically to find the solution.
