How the Iraq War Led to More Extremism in the World | Birth of a Monster | Investigative documentary from 2016
For the past 12 years, journalist Paul Moreira has traveled extensively in Iraq. In this personal film, he goes in search of the men he filmed back in 2003, at the very beginning of the American occupation. Through their stories, and by tracing the roots of ISIS to the arrival of Abu Mousab Al-Zarqawi and America’s handling of the resistance, he tells the story of how Iraq became such a fractured nation. He also explains how events in Iraq came to trigger attacks in Europe.

I served in the Army and deployed to Baghdad twice. I dont blame anyone for trying to fight us because we were invading their country. I would do the same. I recognize a few of the locations in this video. Iraq is a beautiful country with wonderful people. I feel terrible about what we did to the people there. Im sorry for my involvement and wish nothing but love to the Iraqi people.

We sent our men to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. They soon learned what a pointless endeavor it was. After realizing what they were participating in, they came home with deep regrets and confusion about what is right and wrong. These men are now suffering mentally and physically. For what?

without the censorship youtube would have taken this video down. at the very least demonetized it; that's how it is on here now. They are mostly popular videos, like the one showing a U.S. Black-hawk shooting down unarmed civilians and journalists. I agree that not seeing the footage takes away from the story. It's not the creators' fault though, I bet it bothered them to blur those scenes too. Probably even more than it bothers us. ;)

It's really tragic to imagine that when your living your life to fullest or living a comfortable life with tons of opportunities surrounding you for your future but still you're complaining about stuffs meanwhile there are people in the other part of the world who are at war everyday. we really take peace and things that we have in our life for granted. my heart aches for those kids who had to face such a tragedy and got to know the world full of chaos and tragedy and war.

Sorry, but I find it too hard to watch this documentary when every other scene is blurred. Is that what it takes to put a video on KZfaq? Do you need to censor so much??

like all genocidal empires, karma is their undoing. usa is no exception and will meet the same end. stolen resources and blood of innocent is never easy to digest. sad to say the innocent in usa will suffer the tragic karma as well.

I really enjoyed watching this. It gives me hope and confidence that Iraq and the people are healing... I love seeing all sides come together and be unified as people and humans... I hated when I learned that my own government lied to everyone about what they said was occurring in Iraq as far as WMD and chemical warfare plus support of terrorists.... However Saudi Arabians and a Pakistani were the highjackers....So much truth has come to the light.... Very heartwarming to see this progress against hate, intolerance and corruption ❤ Now we in America seem to be reaping what we have sewn 😢 Peace to all men, women and especially the children....May God protect us all 🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️🇺🇲✌️💖💙💖🙋🙋
