Radio Removal THE EASY WAY - Nissan Micra K12

Please note: In many cars, there is an additional 10mm bolt that will need to be removed. This is accessed by gently prising up the top dashboard panel above the radio/vent aperture. It was not mentioned in this video because the bolt had been left out when the aftermarket radio was installed.
I show you how to quickly and easily remove the radio from a Nissan Micra K12

If it's factory unit you also need to take out a 10mm bolt hidden under to panel on top of the dash

Glad I could help! It's a handy job once you use an adapter, or if your new head unit has the ISO connector on the back, better again!

Halfords do a wide range of adapters, but a lot of new radios come with them.

Not without modifying the stereo. It's a lot easier to just replace it with a unit with the aux input on it.

Most larger motor factors will sell it. You need to adapt from whatever radio you have to an ISO block connector.

I've taken my radio out, but all the aftermarket radios I've tried to fit are too big. Any recommendations?

It's a standard DIN size radio. Any that is that size will fit.

Ääh, no. The whole thing does not move out, only a few mm. Drilled holes on the front of the radio, still nothing. Teared of the front of the radio. Seems I will only get it out in small peaces! The unmentioned hidden hexagonal screw under the top of the panel is a very important one!

found more reliable video, so no longer necessary for me to keep asking about where that fifth screw is supposed to be located. really well hidden..... impossible to find it just by mistake.

I have trouble getting two of the side screws out that physically hold the radio player unit. The screws are so right. Anyone else have this problem? Any advice?

A well fitting stubby screwdriver, or if you can get onto it with a small vice grips, that might work.

The one I removed? Yes, I think so. The standard one doesn't though as far as I know.

Initially found this useful until it became clear that you missed a bunch of steps (like having to remove the dash and pillar panels!) So it's actually a bit more complicated. So your video is ultimately pointless.

@@Endfloat useless, as he says. your video makes no sense, cause there is obviously a fifth screw which is hidden, you do not mention that at all... Just wasted 30mm of my life trying to take it out using your information and nearly broke the whole plastic thing.
