Using the rocket launcher takes you to the second stage immediately, then you just have to survive and do some more damage, then Ada gives you a SECOND rocket launcher. Me and my friends were rolling on the floor when that happened

Krauser's voice acting sounds like a dramatic anime villian and I can't unhear it 😂

I just really love the interactions between Leon and Ashley in the remake. Leon being so much more caring and Ashley starting to trust Leon is just so well done. She livens up despite everything and checks in on Leon too- which just comes across so genuine and also very realistic given the horrors they're witnessing together right now. Ashley comes across genuinly grateful for Leon and eager to help him however she can. And Leon really cares about her, not as his mission objective, but as a person. All that's just one wonderful thing about this remake.

I liked Krauser in the remake, I know that Ashley is a lot better in the remake as well and that’s true, but it’s pretty awesome that Krauser’s last words are “I trained you well Leon.” Because it was a passing of the torch situation but Krauser wasn’t gonna just pass the torch, he was gonna make Leon take it from him by force. And I like the fact that Leon gave Krauser peace instead of making him suffer by living like that. That Krauser’s last words were him showing Leon some well earned respect is so badass. I can’t say this remake was perfect because nothing is, and I don’t know what perfect would be like, but damn this remake was good!

What I liked about the remake is that it gave us some more backstory on Luis and we also got more cutscenes as well. I also adored the visuals, and the section with the Regenerators was done so well. I find it hard to say it was better than the original, but there were some aspects of it that made the experience better.

I find it odd that your first interaction with an Iron Maiden is from a Regenerador transforming into one rather than being a separate entity.

I’m just gonna take a moment to gush about the game because honestly, it’s incredible. I love how they handled Leon’s character. His sharp wit and dry sense of humor are still very much intact. His voice is absolutely dripping with sarcasm. At the same time, they did a fantastic job making him feel more human this time around. In scenes such as after he kills Krauser, or during the scene where he finds Ashley and sits next to the bed while he waits for her to wake up, you can tell that everything is starting to get to him. Unfortunately for him, he doesn’t have time to dwell on these thoughts and instead has to push them aside and focus on the mission. Unlike the original, it feels like he’s trying not to let things bother him because he can’t afford to, not because he doesn’t care. I think the voice actors (with the exception of Ada’s. No offense to the actor, but she just sounds so...emotionless) absolutely nail their roles. Leon’s line deliveries are great (he’s such a smartass, I love him). Ashley sounds genuinely terrified this time around. The scene where the parasite is being removed is just...so chilling. Her agonized screams are harrowing (I also love how Leon tries to comfort her during this scene. I just love their sibling dynamic so much). The antagonists also feel a lot more threatening here than they did in the original. Mendez is more intimidating, Salazar is more creepy, and Saddler is more unsettling. Saddler especially made me feel uneasy when he was on screen. It makes me wish he would have appeared more often. Overall, this game is just...so good. You can tell that Capcom wanted to respect the original as much as possible. They took what made the original great to begin with and managed to make it better. They had a clear understanding of what should be reworked and what should stay the same. I also love how the game has a perfect balance of being silly during some moments, but grim during others. It knows when it needs to be taken seriously.

IT'S SO WHOLESOME TO WATCH HIM PLAY; HE IS ONE OF THE OG GAMERS WHO STILL GENUINELY ENJOYES PLAYING VIDEO GAMES.

Loved this series. Something I noticed from my own experience, I’ve played through the game on both my PS5 and PC, and being able to use mouse and keyboard in re 4 now trivializes the aiming which makes the regenerators almost a non threat once you get the scope. Kinda would’ve like to see jack have the chaotic controller experience, but loved it all the same!
