There are a lot of come and go on this show... Captain Cortez leaving for undercover in Mexico, Erika Rogers dying during a SWAT mission, lieutenant Lynch just didn't appears again after S4, Chris taking over the safe house, and now Street. Through out the whole show from season 1 to season 7 Street is the one from 20 squad who changed the most. Even if this good bye of Street is because of an officer who got killed I think this is best big good bye we've ever had on this show! Fill the gaps stay liquid and always stay safe Sergeant (? Team leader now) Street

Unfortunately this is the show's final season, they might end it with possibly Hicks retiring and Hondo taking his place, Deacon taking over 20-Squad, and Street and Chris' wedding as well could be possibility
