There's so much to love about this ending - the goodbye between brothers - the beat that begins when Kitana walks into frame - the transition after "let's go home" combined with the uplifting music But I think the best part is the sense of "we did it". We went against the baddest of bad, and we won. I think that's why "let's go home" hits so hard.

A lot of people forget how groundbreaking the MK motion picture soundtrack was. In 1995, dance/rave culture was still reletively underground and this film really brought a huge spotlight onto the whole scene and helped pave the way for Marvel's Blade and WB's Matrix only a few years later.

Remember in that one game when Scorpion could turn into a penguin and kill people by laying an egg that exploded like a bomb in his opponents' faces? Lol Yeah, the new movie took itself far, FAR too seriously. The 1995 movie at least had SOME humor; it wasn't so goddamn edgy and grim like the new one.

Exactly my thoughts! This film re-defined so many aspects of the games (Kano's likeness and attitude, the two love romances etc.) that it needs a proper sequel! It can work with the right recasting. I always thought that, given his resemblance to Christopher Lambert, Thomas Jane would make a badass Raiden and I believe that Katrina Law could work as Talisa Soto's Kitana.

The ending music choice with all the children running.....man...you just HAD to be there in a theater in the 90s to feel the vibe. It was incredible. Then of course, when Raiden said "I don't think so" and the last music played, it was all so surreal and epic. But, the sequels then all sucked lol. I'm just glad I got to experience the whole martial arts video game phase of the 90s.
