Hey, had fun on these today, despite far from ideal testing conditions. I'll be back soon-ish with tests conducted under better conditions. Hopefully.

I had been also thinking lately that it's harder to do 3 turns (like a figure skater) on these than a 4 wheel banana rocker. My thinking for that wasn't so much about running into the front wheel, but more that the sweet spot is a bit more forward than on a 4 wheel set up. That being said, maybe I just got the idea that I should try to pivot on wheel 3 rather than 2 on the Arc when doing a forward 3 turn - although seems like it would feel weird. But maybe it is running into that wheel. Definitely easier to swivel on the CS and do the Lion style 3 turn, especially with black up. I haven't tried the silver axels, guess I'm sort of all or nothing, but I initially started with black down. Black down is nice for cruising - can get way more grip when pushing off.

I *think* we maybe had the same thoughts about lift? Like you can get on the front wheel but it’s harder to do so… but you can do it without getting on the front wheel… but there’s very little leeway to do so? Idk, many more tests to run…

@@CityBlades I feel the same. Need to switch back to 4 wheel banana to compare. But now we have snow on the ground lol so that idea is going nowhere.

I go from wheels to ice often. I got some sick looking rockin 5x80 frames and I like them but any frame that makes the front/back wheels to stick out are gonna feel slow and mess with your spacing when you crossover, I already took a slam doing the crazy. I would say long frames are only useful for toe/heel presses, which I don't love at all how they look so I don't perform them (gotta be the ugliest move in the history of inline skates, to me anyway). I'm gonna keep the frames because I do like the feeling but my conclusion is that 4x80 banana rocker is by far my favorite setup, it is almost 1 to 1 to ice blades.

Definitely agree about the presses, lol

Please describe the oh sh*t wheel 🙃 you give some crazy inputs and loved watching you practice the skills multiple times 🙌🏼

Well the “oh shit wheel” that I want is something that just kinda knocks you back onto the other ones when you get up on it, but if you DO get up on it you have a bit of… travel before it gets too dicey. The one I experienced was… it’s a little TOO good at knocking you back into place & if you get up on it, it’s… a different kind of “oh shit” 😂

@@CityBlades hahaha 😄 makes sense! What if you put a jammed wheel or a stopper there 🙃

@@BrennenThomas have messed with a stop before but… idk, I like my rollerblades to be rollerblades, I guess.

Given what you talked about here, would the closest imation to ice-esque mechanics be the use of like a tiny 50mm 2nd wheel on a 5 wheel frame that would allow the proper positioning of that pivot point beneath the ball of the foot while maintaining the shorter front length and minimal rockering to ensure grip? Thoughts?!?!?
@CityBlades8 ай бұрын
Well, interesting thing is the 2nd wheel from the front on these is right about where I want it, which is at the end of the ball of the foot. To that end… I wouldn’t want a smaller wheel there because it’d push that wheel further back. A tiny front wheel would be the most logical thing to do, with a big rocker-3 wheels on the ground is enough for proper grip, BUT that tiny front wheel may still be too far forward to allow proper lift for brackets etc. It’s complicated, lol

We have a few spots in Topeka and a rink where during winter it's dry and warm.

We got two rinks too, but I feel weird going to a place full of children by myself. Idk 🤷🏼♂️
