This absolutely wild run starts with FOUR hunting trophys in normal in an absolutely crazy start.
We will discuss endless mode mechanics and how to go deep in endless.
While this is not the world record it's my personal best endless mode run - beating my previous best of wave 156.After a lot of searching, I do believe this is the furthest endless mode featured on KZfaq.

Hey Folks! Absolutely wild run with one of the fastest starts ever with FOUR hunting trophies in normal. That said I did make some notable mistakes (especially around capped items, like skipping the eyes surgery on wave 10, not just buying the couch and eating the speed penalty, etc.) Not saying this was a perfect showcase, but I haven't seen any live gameplay footage on KZfaq past 120+ so I decided to put it up. I recorded all relevant items from crates from wave 80-160. 88: Tardigrade, 98 padding, 104 padding, 110 padding, 111 padding 119 - Hit 100k health, 125 alien eyes, no other relevant items through wave 160. I think this one had decent offense but got somewhat bad luck on Tardigrades (I've had much weaker runs that get like 16-18 by wave 120 or so). Still a fun run, even if it came a bit short. Lots of lessons here so I am excited to do something at wave 250+ once I can muster up the time for another endless dive. Next up is a ghost guide (I've had more requests for that char than any other.) Should be up with much more humor around Wednesday, this one was a bit tense so I didn't incorporate as many jokes as I would have liked.

Hi Sean, I'm a new player (playing since yesterday) and your channel is helping me TREMENDOUSLY. I've just unlocked Ghost and I'm already loving it (probably my favourite alongside with Lucky, for now). I'd love to see a take on Ghost from you, because it's a simple character from what I could gather from various folks (Dodge + Ghost Weaps Scaling) but I'm 100% certain that I'm missing something. It's not a request eh, so take your time and don't disrupt your schedule just for this, I can wait. EDIT: Just read the pinned comment, looking forward to it!

I do think that it most definitely isn’t my place to say this really but, the weapons themselves have a base crit chance on top of the crit chance you see on the main stat screen meaning you could’ve invested waaaay less into crit and still had a 100% crit chance. THIS RUN WAS STILL GODLY THOUGH

Hey Ice, thanks for the comment. I always appreciate when folks add to the discussion. 98% of what I know about this game is self-discovered/tested or through the Wiki. I do miss things - case in point I did not realize that Daggers had a base crit higher than 3%. I did some more reading and that is definitely a point where I could be playing more efficiently! Thanks for pointing it out :)

Great work, really impressiv! but i wonder why do you use the sad tomato? in later waves you never get to full hp and basically just use half hp to survive?

Hey, that's a good question. When an item rolls, rarity is determined first then item (game decides you've gotten an epic, then rolls for an item). Because the epic tier contains both the hunting trophy and tardigrade I like to pick up all the epic uniques even if they are bad (wisdom, sad tomato etc) in order to maximize the # of trophies and tardigrades I see. Not saying that's 100% the right decision, but I feel the trade-off is worth dealing with the sad tomato.

ggs! In one of your videos you said something about a mod(?) that would optimize drops according to weights(?), as in, it would drop you stuff that you already have more often than not. Can you pleas tell me what it is?

Hey, that must have been another creator. So far, all my runs have been unmodded and I personally have not explored any mods yet, so I couldn't tell you I am afraid :(

quick question: having more than 3 hunting trophies does anything? I don't really understand how the percentage works past 100%

You can't get more than three in the 1.0 version, in the past each hunting trophy rolled individually for a material, so if you had 8 the game would roll 1/3 eight separate times so you could end up with between 0 and 8 per kill.

Hey, I am a bit late, but enjoyed the video greatly. What do you think about taking metal detectors as well? I am very unsure about how effective they will be financially, bút even just reachting the cap is gonna take a lot of money and damage aswell. What was your reasoning to not pick them up all the time?

Hey, I wouldn't say it's good or bad to do so, it just ends up taking a long ish time to come online and I didn't bother, depending on how the run shakes out it could definitely be more efficient to do so. But since the materials reduce you kind of have to realize the benefit before that drop off, I'd say 50/50 if it's worth it.

in a run of mine i had 20 paddings and 11 HTs at wave 40...havent seen a single potatothrower even with 14 bunnies.....got to wave 65 with cleavers, but man, that felt bad....no anvil either

Yeah, I feel you big time. I've had promising runs fall apart because I am unable to get that last item. One small tip for that particular situation is if you are able to find and take any of the other three support weapons (taser, hand, pruner) you will get the bonus of having a support tag weapon. This gives you a (I believe) 5% chance to get a weapon from the support pool on a re-roll and will help you find potato throwers, albeit slightly.

Is there a way to end endless if you just cant die ??? I hacked the game and im endless lvl 350 after 100 i got tired and added auto clicker programed tonpush next level and slept Im wake up and lvl 354 help jow to stop and save progress and unlocks😢

I’m by no means an expert but I’m just curious how come you didn’t let the shop roll you a Tardigrade if you were so intent on finding them? I get that the hp scales with more material but wouldn’t 3k be worth a free hit?

This was a ridiculous run, for sure. This was the fastest start out of maybe 50+ recorded attempts. I actually had some others that did better in endless but this one had a much more exciting/entertaining start so I opted to continue and post this run.

@seanTIER wouldnt it make sense to do an endless run with saver instead of loud? Endgame you are gonna get more money but wont be able to buy that many items and saver's damage scales linearly throughout the game

Potentially, piggy bank stops working in endless so it's a little harder to come together in the late game

why do you pick up capped item ? is that so they spawn less afterwards? Also why did you lock items in the shop from wave 50? does it matter or ?

Hey Marius, yes essentially. I don't want to have to re-roll past the items as I progress - if we reach the item cap they are no longer in the re-roll item pool leaving more of the valuable items we are seeking. If an item is locked it cannot appear in a crate. After the items became unaffordable, I will lock items that are bad to improve the odds that the items I am seeking are found in crates. In this case, I locked four epic items in order to (attempt to) maximize the amount of Tardigrades I'd see. If I am behind on paddings/alien eyes I may lock blue items instead.

hey, on this one, it's because I was shotgunning runs extremely quickly for a strong seed (probably takes me a few dozen attempts per high-roll seed) and I just was not able to record/commentate that many starts while preserving my sanity.

What does a 4+ hunting trophy do after 3 your chance is 100%

Each one rolls individually - so if you have 10 hunting trophies each one had a 1/3 chance to generate an extra material. In the current game it's capped at three, though (this was pre patch 1.0).

hey, this was done pre 1.0 before hunting trophies were a capped item (this strategy still works but is not AS effective)

Hate to be the one to make this kind of comment, but going from 1 potato thrower to 6 in 4 lvl's in the 30's seems pretty suss, that is some kind of luck. I do not understand the skipping over XP bonuses as well? It is essentially extra stats, or does it just not matter with scaling once into higher levels?

XP bonuses don't scale well, wiki has more info but it's not really efficient (level ups are semi-exponential, xp bonus in this game is linear). With regards to the throwers when you buy a first thrower (or any support tag weapon) you have an increased chance to see support weapons so it's not super difficult to find more once you get the first

I don.t understand how your max HP increasing that much in 1 wave ( more than 100 MAX HP increasing in 1 wave at level 30) ? Is that an item ?

yes thats the paddings (+1 hp every 100 materials possessed)

Basically what the other commenter said, at this point I had about 20 paddings or so, gaining 3K-4K materials per wave, which resulted hundreds of extra HP per wave. At the moment, the key way to scale in endless is in the interaction between the item Padding and Hunting trophy and dealing damage via methods that scale off your health.

@@SeanTIER ok I see, nice one. I tried replicate but end up wave 40 : RNG so bad, 3 Paddings and 2 huting trophy. Is it pure luck or some pick up help you get those ?

why are you ignoring scars and (some) beans- 20% or 40% xp seems bonkers for endless mode?

Hey Stephen, the short answer is that XP scales at a faster than linear pace while XP items only give you a flat percentage increase making XP items pretty inefficient in this game. For example a scar only nets you one additional level over the first 20 waves and the effect gets worse from there. TL:DR, XP items aren't great. There are screenshots/gifs of people getting to wave 500+ in the games Discord so this is certainly not the world record. However, I've not seen anything this deep on KZfaq, and I believe it to be the highest recorded run (please correct me if I am mistaken). In addition, the game was changed after endless was added but before the current patch with the notable change of making Anvil a unique item. Previously, it was much easier to go very far into endless by stacking like 5 anvils and riding 98% DMG reduction etc. Lastly, the endless scaling was increased quite significantly, making those deep runs much more difficult. At this point, it's way way more luck focused than skill focused. That said, when I muster up the gumption for another attempt I do plan to get to wave 250+ I do expect the padding/alien eyes/hunting trophy trifecta to either be changed significantly or endless mode scaling to be altered. Since a new beta update is around the corner (pure guess, just based on past patch frequency) I may wait until the next patch to see what endless looks like before investing the time.

It's just not an item I value highly (in normal or in endless). In deep endless you almost always get enough geckos/sifds where it's not hugely important

Why do you keep ignoring detectors? I mean, they don´t give you much money, but they do pay for themselves and give you a bit of luck. Also they are technically capped, even if 20 is a huge cap

I do think I made some mistakes this run in not picking up capped items earlier (eye surgery as well). In retrospect, I should have been more aggressive in picking up metal detectors.
