Good days and bad. 5 years in pain. 1 in 10 women. #Endometriosis
I never thought I’d be happy to hear “I found and removed stage 2 endometriosis” from a surgeon...but after years of doctors and even loved ones brushing off my pain, it felt good to feel validated that I wasn’t crazy all this time. On average, women go 8-10 years before they are diagnosed with endometriosis. Why? Because talking about periods is taboo and painful periods are assumed normal by society.
Unexplained pelvic/low back pain (especially but not limited to your period), bladder & bowel issues are the warning signs although you can only have one of these symptoms and still have endometriosis. I share my story in hopes of helping anyone who finds themselves in the same boat. Reach out to me before you spend the next 5 years in pain like I did. To fight endometriosis, you truly have to be your own advocate.

I know this video is over a year old, so you probably won't see this. But I want to thank you for this 3 part series! Out of all the Endometriosis videos I have watched, trying to get what a day to day pre-op, day of, and post-op looks like - your videos on it have been the most informative! I have this surgery in 2 weeks and want to be as prepared as possible. I think my biggest fear is that they won't find anything and I won't have answers on what is going on with me 😬

Thank you that means so much! I was hesitant to share so much personal info, but wanted to help people going through it as much as I could 🤗 Your fear is totally normal and valid. I had the same one. Feel free to message me on IG if you want to chat more about it!

I know you posted these videos two years ago, but I wanted to say thank you for your honesty and alllll of the information. I have an appointment in November to talk to my doctor about getting the surgery because I know I have endometriosis (just haven’t officially been diagnosed) and this helped to prep for the possible future surgery that I’m pretty sure I’m going to be getting so seriously thank you!!

I did not know I had endometriosis until I was in having a hysterectomy. I am glad they found it so hopefully I won’t have the pain anymore. Endometriosis is no joke thank you for sharing your story.

I just had a lap last Wednesday and was diagnosed with Atelectasis on Friday. I go to the doctor tomorrow to check my lungs again. I was not surprised when they told me in the ER because of your video. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I had a hysterectomy when I was about 37 left my ovaries but I’m going back to get ovaries out now due to the endometriosis at 49 . I was actually pretty good but the last few years has been bad . I saw another video how birth control helped control plus be able to have a child . For you that be good to watch . Did you get constipation after surgery. But great help for people ..

@@juliaschuller2012 Yes, it did. I saw you received antibiotics few days later? My doctor never stopped them, they gave me intravenous ones in day 1 and 2, and in day 2 I came home and he gave me for 7 days to take antibs, as a prevention. So I have antibiotics for 9 days straight after the surgery, as a prevention, a good safe method I would say. I will also have injections in the next 3 months to stop my period for a while, I like that because I heard the first period after surgery is very painful , so that will meam no pain for few months. I am happy that you sorted the breathing problem, it must have been bad , bless you. My heart goes to all of you, especially here on KZfaq most of the girls are so young, I am in my 40's, it must be even harder to deal with this when you're far younger....A big hug to you all. I have watched loads of life stories and I was very well informed, the doctor was surprised of how much knowledge I already had, just by listening to your stories 🙏💛.

@@vibes811 listening to videos on KZfaq helped me so much too! It helps to not feel so alone. I’m glad we could meet through here too :) My first period after surgery was awful. I bled for 14 days and had to go on bed rest! The pain wasn’t as bad as how much I bled. I hope you are feeling better?

@@juliaschuller2012 yes, at home, I got rid of that gas, so I am fine. Incisions hurt a bit but I am on meds I am fine. I had my first shower after 4 days, I also opened my bowel aftet 4 days, so my 4th day looks like a success day lol. I just rest all day, I sleep a lot lol. I just eat, take meds, use the toilet and back to sleep. I think we are also mentally exhausted, especially before the first lap, not having a diagnose yet, not knowing what you have, it was stressful.
