Hi Dr Chan! So good to hear that a bowel movement isn’t expected for up until 72 hours. I had my first Lap in 2015 and the nurse was screaming at me that I HAD TO POOP in order to be discharged. I was literally crying in the bathroom because I couldn’t “go”. I have chronic constipation. I hope my next surgery will go better than the first!

I was diagnosed with endometriosis after visiting my Dr in iran for infertility and I had a laproscopic and hysterescopic surgery two weeks ago. I'm still dealing with the massive bruising. My advice is to wear a dress or a skirt instead of pants post op and drink tons of fluids.. also preparing your home before you go to surgery is important and I agree withh keeping things you need near by and at waist level because its really hard to bend over. Going to the bathroom was painful for me and there was bloating and inflamation. the best thing for me was to sleep while sitting up for the first 2-3 nights following the surgery. Also eating solid foods was very uncomfortable for me as I had some stickiness on my colon and uterus too that was removed, so I stuck to very nutritous liquid foods for at least a week after surgery. Thank you for the video! It was very informative, I wish I had found your video before I had my surgery as doctors in Iran really fail to explain anything to their patients😅😊

I'm having surgery at the end of March. My doctors believe that I may have endometriosis. I have 2 cysts on my left ovary. 1 is 3 cm and the other is 4cm. They believe that they are endometrial cysts. I've had them for over 2 years causing so many symptoms. I didn't want to mess around with birth control as I am nervous about all the side effects. I decided to push my doctor to get a referral for surgery finally after over 2 years of pain, long periods and many other symptoms. I'm nervous but this video was helpful. Thank you

@missnurse2011 Mine is on the 26th. I've always had cramps and heavy periods. I never felt like they were so terrible. That was until almost 3 years it all got way worse. Plus I started having other symptoms beyond that and the 2 cysts. I'm glad we are both finally going to hopefully have some answers. Good luck and hope you have a speedy recovery! ❤️

@@stina51093thank you for sharing! I’m currently having really bad health problems and believe I have endometriosis. I found out I have a cyst on my right ovary and for the past 2 months, I’ve been waking up to a ballooned stomach. My cramps are terrible and it’s gotten to the point where intercourse is painful. All my life I’ve had painful menstruation cycles to the point where I’m screaming on my bed and crying. I have an ultrasound tomorrow but with the constant sharp pains I’ve been having, I hope something is done to remove my cyst and cure me of this pain. 😢

I pray for all of us women with this crippling condition. I’ve had surgery and the pain is still pretty bad after 1 week. I am cramping terribly. I am scared to take hormonal medications as well because I want to have kids 😢

Im 52 (!) been diagnosed with haemorrhagic cyst 2.5 x 2.5 cm on left ovary and signs of deep infiltrating endometriosis on a ligament as indicated on MRI along with other fluid cysts on both ovaries. have deep pain in left side and back shooting down my leg. Waiting to see what is happening next. Was previously disgnosed at 18, had two exploratory laparoscopies, no surgery, but hormone treatment. I miraculously had two babies after this and polycystic ovaries and precancerous cervical cells. Being a woman can be tough! Im very surprised to be revisiting these issues again at my age.

This video was incredibly helpful!! I’ve been wondering how long it’ll be til I can lift. Glad to know the catheter may be a real possibility but doesn’t mean anything went wrong.

I had 1 month ago a laparoscopy and got diagnosed with endometriosis, adenomyosis, and dysmenorrhea. Do you have a webinar about care and recovery from this combination? I still getting bloated, in pain, and moving slowly (I get dizzy, pain, and breathing difficulties when climbing the stairs to my 4th floor)

My best friend recently had a hysterectomy after years of having her life put on hold because of it. She's currently being cauterized with nitrate for the second time to halt post-surgical bleeding. It sucks.

That’s a good question. I got my period on the day of my surgery! The surgery went well but after surgery I was no longer bleeding. I’m now on my second day of recovery, and would be my second day of period, with no menstrual blood. I’ll be checking in with my doctor in a couple of weeks but I’m really curious to learn how your period gets affected if you have the surgery during your menstrual cycle.

Oh, that’s crazy! I’ve had my surgery about 10 days after my first visit with my Dr; and that was for all the prep, blood, etc. How do you live every day with this terrible pain? I do wish you get better quickly 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Well this doctor needs to be educated in endo… ablation should not be preformed to treat endo, only excision.. ablation causes scare tissue and only make things worse sometimes and hormone therapy does not help endo, it only helps the symptoms sometimes. It’s not a menstruation disease, it’s a whole body disease. She needs to look up information that’s been produced by a specialist. Don’t do ablation!!

Are you a doctor to make such an assertive comment? My understanding is that this condition is still very under studied and that doctors are doing the best they can with the knowledge they have. I just spoke with someone who had the surgery with ablation 20 years ago and thought it was the best route as she was able to have a child after. We're all here just trying to find answers and relief, and no two bodies are the same, so maybe take your negativity elsewhere.

I leave in London more than one year waiting for surgery ! I got phone call from Chelsea & Westminster Hospital they cancelled my operation reason they gave me … the doctor going on holiday . My whole world shut down . I can’t move in with anything in my life . How awful is that . Doctor becomes so greedy and no empathy . 🥲🥲
