So basically, a Bowser game would be a hack n' slash, but with more movement options and the addition of power ups.

Bowsers inside story was kinda that. And the best mario rpg ever made. So more like this ? Sounds nice.

A purely Bowser focused game is also something I've wanted for AGES, and it's something as of recent times that I've tried to think of a hypothetical story idea for. Set in some place and focusing around something new without it solely being focused around the Mushroom Kingdom (while still acknowledging it). Something that could still incapsulate Bowser's status as a villain, while still having him mostly be out for himself without having to directly conflict the actual good guys, or flip on a dime to be just a "hero" himself. Here's the idea of the story I was thinking of; Bowser could be chilling in his kingdom, busy pondering his next big scheme to seize the Mushroom Kingdom and mess with Mario, then suddenly his kingdom is under siege by creatures from a far away land led by another villain. This villain uses their magic to not only imprison the Koopalings and a good chunk of Bowser's minions, but also poof them and Bowser's entire kingdom away, replacing it with their own kingdom, so that they can be the new source of evil to contest the Mushroom Kingdom. All the while, Bowser's kingdom is sent away to the villain's homeland for its savage residents to, in theory, surround Bowser on all sides and finish him off. This is where the game would start, with Bowser not taking this lying down and using whatever he's got to fight tooth and nail to get his minions and the Koopalings back, taking over the new land in the process. The Koopalings this time around could be the things Bowser would have to rescue as he progresses to each area, maybe allowing him to access new abilities after each one is saved. There could also be portions or levels centering around Bowser using his minions in big army battles, or even stages where Bowser's a giant and wrecks stuff. All this eventually leading to Bowser storming into a castle to face the homeland's sadistic royalty, which after her defeat, Bowser proceeds to do a very Bowser move by kidnapping said royalty so he can coax the villain into coming back for a fight, JUST as they were on the Mushroom Kingdom's doorstep about to fight Peach and the Mario Bros. Of course they return and have one final showdown with Bowser, and the story "ends" with the villain sending Bowser's kingdom back where it was. It's a bit of a rough summation of my basic thoughts, but what I think could be a fun pitch for a Bowser game.

I've seen someone on Reddit give out the idea of Bowser fighting other villains that try to move in on his turf and I have to say the idea has merit.

I feel like this game could be an excuse to finally make Toads enemies, as this is a Bowser game. Have the villain brainwash them.

Mario RPG opened a new depth for Bowser. He utilized capturing the Princess for power, not love, making him an epic villain instead of just silly. Even if he says he “loved her”, he’s not into what she wants.

I imagine a Bowser game being some around the lines of the Mario characters being possessed and attacking Bowser's kingdom as usually in Mario games, Bowser's usually the first to invade so having the roles switched would forced him to take action. Now the Mario characters wouldn't "Necessarily" be evil while being possessed, more of just trying to protect everyone as they're turned in body guards for the "Hero" who's kingdom has been attacked by Bowser before.

I have a proposal as to what to call the genre this hypothetical Bowser game would be; Power-Platformer - emblematic of the raw strength that the main character possesses.

Here’s my idea. One morning, Bowser is woken up by Kamek, who reveals his army has vanished. It turns out that the various the kings and leaders Bowser works with (King Bob-omb, Goomboss, etc) have all resigned and turned on the Koopa king. Bowser would then go after each of them and show them all who the real king is. Bowser’s castle would serve as a hub world and parts of it would unlock as the game progresses. As you defeat the leaders and gain back more of your army, the castle will become more populated and more benefits will become available to you. I have two ideas as to who the villain might be. 1. King Boo. He is Bowser’s least loyal servant and has been shown scheming and plotting all on his own throughout the Luigi’s Mansion games. His trickster personality would make for great Bowser interactions. Or 2. Bowser’s dad. What if Bowser’s dad wasn’t dead like what has been implied since Yoshi’s island. What if the bigger badder Koopa Lord was just trapped somewhere and has come back to take over the kingdom, with Bowser having to stop him.

Mario and Luigi could be rivals to Bowser. Not directly villainous but just... hinderances for Bowser, small boss fights ending in the plumbers running away or "Shovel Knight in Plague Of Shadow"-ing Bowser at the end.

EDIT: A good idea for the koopalings is that the koopalings are bosses possessed by the black goop, and after you beat one, the koopaling joins you. You can activate their abilities like how Link activates sage abilities in Totk.

I really like this idea! Imagine the ending being Mario and Luigi stomping Bowser, but Peach has a cake delivered to him as a “thank you” gift akin to Bowser’s Inside Story.

The opening character deduction is immediately flawed. Bowser knows he's evil and he loves it. Bowser didn't have a son at the beginning of the series. Heck, he wasn't even shown to have feelings for Peach until at least a decade after his debut. Bowser's character was first developed in Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario, and was further fleshed out by later mainline games and other RPGs. The movie version of Bowser is an entirely different character with a different personality and different motivations. He's never shown to be a secretly deep character. He's just an evil guy that loves being evil, wants to take over the world, hates Mario, cares about his minions, and loves his son. Bowser's Inside Story is the deepest dive we've ever gotten into his character, and it shouldn't be discounted simply because it's an RPG, because it's perfectly in line with all the other games that put more personality into Bowser. Not to mention, Bowser Jr and the Koopalings get a TON of characterization in the RPGs as well. They're not as mysterious as you'd think.

I think a Bowser hack and slash would fit the genere of the game. Just add unique platforming ideas and BAM, Bowser Game.

For the Mario and Luigi situation, honestly it could just be Mario and Luigi butting heads with Bowser as they keep running into eachother while they’re trying to save the kingdom in the story while Bowsers just trying to get his son back. Bowser just being there as the plumber bros are doing their own things.

Not exactly bowser but I got a weird idea for a Koopa game: CUSTOM KOOPA. You can just make up your own Koopaling OC and challenge the other elite members of Bowser's Castle to strategic minion battles.

Probably the best plot would be Bowser getting overthrown by another force and becoming the hero pretty much out of spite. He’d probably free Mario and Luigi just to rub it in their faces. But seriously he NEEDS to be next in line. Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad all have unique games with unique playstyles. It’s his turn! The raw power, fire breathing, the clown car, he could use Kamek to transform him like he has throughout the series, it would be so fun! And just mentioning a rival series for a quick second, I really would like to see the Blue Blur’s archnemesis get the spotlight too.

i love this concept, though i think mario and luigi being on a vacation is a missed opportunity. while having bowser be a silent hero is poetic, i think the ultimate poetry would be him needing to save the bros. antagonist puts them in some inescapable castle, and bowser has to come to terms with the fact that his best bet at saving his son is freeing his nemeses. you could even make a little fork in the road type deal to prevent them from stealing the story: two locations need to be won over simultaneously, and the jump men will deal with the one you don't pick. though, if it were a movie, the video's idea is probably a better fit. also, you don't even need to ask about waluigi. _everyone_ wants waluigi.

I feel like your solution for getting rid of Mario and Luigi wouldn't paint them in the best light. Maybe just have the new enemy overpower them instead, forcing Bowser to be the one to save the day.

I love all the ideas you gave here, and I think piggybacking off of games like bowser’s inside story and bowser’s minions could make a really fleshed out bowser game. I liked the idea of having a game where he’s utilizing his minions to defend his castle (tower defense). It could include all the villains and really flesh out all of their roles in the Mario universe and teach us about concepts of conflict and struggle between nations/kingdoms. It could even include the Princess’s and Pauline as well!

If I were to make a Bowser game, I would make it 3-D combining elements from super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario 3-D world, and super Mario Brothers wonder. As for a story it’s very simple a dragon king shows up and takes over every kingdom, including the mushroom kingdom and Bowser’s kingdom Bowser and his minions try fighting back, but the dragon king succeeded and kidnap both Bowser, junior, and the koopalings so now it’s up to Bowser to save the day. I know it’s basic.

My concept for a Bowser game is a army commanding strategy game where you build units of Bowser's minions and take over the kingdom. :3

I like this idea! I do think it’d be a cool twist to have Bowser be king of the Mushroom kingdom with everyone seeing him as the pinnacle of stability against the goo. Ive wanted a Bowser focused game forever!!! We all have!!! It would be an instant success and money printer for Nintendo, they need to make that shit already. Ever since Odyssey ive been hoping that the end sequence where u control bowser was a bit of a test from Nintendo to see how well Bowser plays and how fans respond to playing as him.

I feel like I could add my own take on these ideas: - the Bowser game would called something like Bowser's Crash-N'-Burn. - The game would have platforming and hack-n-slash elements defeating hordes of enemies and platforming tricky obstacles. - As the name suggests, levels would have you smash through thick blocks and the scenery as the screen shakes and clutters with debris. - imagine a game combining the Mario Odyssey finale with Devil May Cry and AntonBlast. - Instead of "Trevor", what if the main villain was some Ice King that rivals Bowser's fire abilities (similar to Peach vs Grape). (No, not King Penguin although he could make an appearance) - Mario, Luigi, and Peach have been frozen by the Ice King while Bowser Jr has been corrupted by him to fight against Bowser. - Bosses would be big tough, and use a health bar (rather than the typical 3 hits) so Bowser can rapidly attack the bosses.

I really like this video! I think the enemies should also include Trevore’d toads, the bosses could either be brainwashed koopalings or mainline Mario characters like captain toad, Mario, Luigi, Warrio, waluigi, peach, daisy and as final boss bowser Jr and in the second phase Trevor himself. I think that using the koopalings but after you defeat them you get an ability is the best option for the game! As for the name I think something like broken bowser would be cool!

I was thinking about a multiverse game, where you play as bowser from an alternate universe (a universe where the mushroom kingdom, peach, Mario, Luigi and all the toads cease to exist), he decided to enter the multiverse for “clean up duty” (mainly fighting threats), also bowser jr from that universe is older and mature, owns a restaurant (Nintendo version of Hell’s Kitchen), definitely adding cartoon show king koopa (the green baddie), along with bowsette, as cameos

I think a game similar to sonic unleash (werehog levels) and crash of the titans would be good game for browser. A beaten up platformer where all the minions are big monsters that browsers saves and gains ability that he could us on a limited us unlike Mario but hold more then him.

Bowser's inside story: am i a joke to you?

To me the ideal plot for a Bowser game is -New Villain comes in and kidnaps Peach. -Mario and Luigi go to rescue her, but are defeated and captured themselves. -Bowser gets news of this and says something along the lines of "This joker thinks he can come onto MY turf, steal MY princess, defeat MY nemesis and get away with it?!" -Begin game

I once had the idea for a Bowser game, or at least sort of a Bowser game, which I am going to ramble about here because I think it's at least kind of interesting. Mainly, you'd be playing as Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings, with short segments as Bowser. It's be a singleplayer 2D platformer, with each character having a unique moving style and other unique attributes, like Bowser Jr. having rollerskates, Lemmy bouncing on a ball or Bowser being overpowered in every way, controlling kind of like Wario from Wario Land but with fire breath. Bowser and his army would be the 'good guys' in the game because a neighbouring kingdom; called the Iron Kingdom but usually called the Rust Kingdom, declared war on and took over the Mushroom Kingdom, with Peach kidnapped. They have done this because their ruler mistakenly believed the Mushroom Kingdom to be an ally of Bowser's. Calling himself the Iron Will, the kingdom's ruler believes(or at least acts like) he serves a greater power. He also believes(or at least acts like) that the Iron King, previous ruler of the kingdom, died due to an illness caused by pollution from Bowser's Kingdom. This is untrue, the Iron King was poisoned by the Iron Will. Bowser confronts the Iron Will in an airship, where the Iron Will is interrogating a large bearded man wearing an orange shirt, black overalls with hazard stripes on the front pocket and an orange cap marked 'B'. When Bowser interrupts, the Iron Will exasperatedly asks who Bowser is, which ticks Bowser off. After furiously answering, calling himself Lord Bowser, King of the Koopas, the Iron Will laughs at Bowser and says that he's already caught Bowser, that the actual Bowser must be a laughably bad fake; pointing towards the guy with the 'B' hat. The guy then corrects the Iron Will, calling himself Bizarrio. After Bowser makes fun of Bizarrio's name, Bizzario does the same and gets immediately burnt to ash while the Iron Will escapes. Don't worry, Bizzario didn't die. He appears as a boss later with a long-winded spiel about how expensive medical bills are in the Rust Kingdom and that a big bounty has been put on "you brats"(Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings) which he intends to collect on to pay off his bills. There would be 9 worlds, with the first 8 focusing on one of either Bowser Jr. or the Koopalings, with each world ending in a power trip level as Bowser. The 9th world, Princess Peach's former castle, is a Bowser only world. The first 3 worlds are considered part of Bowser's Kingdom, the next 3 the Rust Kingdom and the last 3 the Mushroom Kingdom, though the area is under control of the Rust Kingdom at the time. The World 6 boss would be the hypnotised Iron Prince, who after being defeated will tell the player that the steward went berserk and took over, starting to call the Iron Kingdom the Rust Kingdom instead. He is then immediately captured by the Iron Will's dollar store Kamek. In World 9, Bowser would have to rescue a character for each level, where they use their abilities to help Bowser get through the level. In order, these would be: Blue Toad, Toadette, Captain Toad, Princess Daisy, Yoshi, Iron Prince, Princess Peach and in the final level, Mario. In the final level, the Iron Will uses some macguffin to become too powerful for Bowser to handle, but he has a convenient weak spot on the top of his head... That Bowser can't jump up to. After like 30 seconds of being invincible, Mario will show up to give Bowser a helping hand. Or boot, really. You'll be able to throw Mario into the air to knock the Iron Will down, where you get to pound his metal skull into shavings. I think it's important that nearing the end of the game, the antagonist is losing and Princess Peach is saved, but the Mushroom and Iron Kingdom aren't. This is because, while if Bowser was going to be completely evil he would stop here, I would want Bowser to get personally invested in the conflict over the course of the game, even to the point where he helps both kingdoms rebuild after the ending. Bowser may be the soon to be evil king of the entire universe, but hey, even villains go on holiday! Plus, being the evil king of the entire universe isn't all it's cracked up to be when some clown bulldozed the place last Sunday.

I feel like saying Mario and Luigi being on holiday is a bit off. I’d like them to be captured with Peach too by goo-Bowser Jr. They very well can be since Mario is captured in Luigi’s Mansion and so can Luigi by that extent. In that way, they can have a moment of being thankful to Bowser with a meaningful shake of hand (maybe Peach gives him a tiny smooch for being the hero this once). They would let him go for once or do a party for him before they have a small comedic accident misunderstanding that leads to their rivalry starting over again.

My idea for a Bowser game is that he could go on a world tour fucking up every other Mario villain to show them who's top dog. He could incidentally solve their problems while he's doing this.

There was a game called "Nefarious" a while back, it had you kidnapping Princesses and fighting heros as the "Antagonist" (Or as I like to call it "Pro-Antagonist") of the story. A Bowser game could be like that. Also, there was a fangame called "A Koopa's Revenge (1 and 2)" Where you play as a Koopa fighting Mario's "minions". Have the goop take over Mario and Luigi too and have them as bosses!

I would definitely love to see Bowser get his own in the future. I will say i kinda like the idea of the Koopalings being the main Bosses of each world taken over by this Black Goo and after defeating them you unlock them as a playable character. You Unlock Bowser Jr after beating the game and can unlock Dry Bowser in Secret World.

I’m going to be honest: I would think it’s a tower defense game. Now before the comments saying I’m stupid come in I just want to say, Mario has a lot (platformers, racing, rpgs) Luigi has Luigi’s mansion, Wario has Warioware, Peach has princess peach showtime, now all of them have platformers but they do have games with different gameplay and a tower defense game could make good use of Bowser’s minions. Since they do play defense in the platformers.

I really hope they make a Bowser game in the future, and I hope it's unique like how "Luigi's Mansion" and "Princess Peach: Showtime" are. The main thing I want from the game is for Bowser to have a new enemy that is actually ANOTHER VILLAIN. Sure he's the big bad of Mario's world, but he may not agree with how another villain operates in evil. Fawful, Midbus, and Dark Bowser did this well in "Bowser's Inside Story", but it would be an interesting concept to see in an original, Bowser-centered game.

Now we need a Daisy game. LOL! 😂

I've seen this cool idea by someone on MOTI's the Grand Finale with Lyrics, but basically they want a game where it's Bowser fending off greater threats from the Mushroom Kingdom much like how he did with the Dark Star and Fawful, in a "No one torments this Kingdom but me!" way. I honestly think it'll make for a good campaign for a Bowser solo game.

I think an RPG could be good. Bowser's more numerous minions are maybe characters that talk to bowser, runs shops or give guides and koopalings can be allies. And the supervillan is whoever turned bowser into the posessed thing thats in bowser's fury. I think this could work.

i personally like to imagine bowser would be a nearly unstoppable tank most of the game, he can just walk THROUGH the enemies and oneshot them, hes invincible and very few things can actually kill him, but he gains points for defeating enemies and he can actually take damage during boss fights but this is just my idea/opinion obviously and i like alot of other ideas i have seen too!

How would a bowser game look like? **LIKE BOWSER GAME**

I have a game idea if anybody wants to hear it. Story: Bowser is jealous of mario being with princess peach so he invents his own type of mushroom to secretly give mario. This mushroom would hypnotise mario and make him forget everything (i mean everything) so he wouldnt remember peach. Then bowser would have his chance, however it goes horribly wrong, the mushroom actually corrupts mario into this huge shadowy monster and hes destroying everything in his path. Bowser tries to save peach but hes flung away (kind of like how mario was flung away in super mario bros U, then he would have the travel worlds, but the worlds are different (not the same as U cuz thats boring). SO, the enemys would be all shadow corrupted and try to attack bowser, so bowser would have to travel fighting his own minions (and his koopalings). His mechanics would move kind of like odysey when we take over him with the cap, but he would have different power ups like mario did. In the end bowser fights mario and when hes down he talks to him and mario remembers everytjing, and the mushrooms effects no longer work so bes back to normal. Peach thanks him and mario too, and hes seen as the hero. However mario and peach are still together so he just goes back home, but his koopalings talk to him and basically make him feel happy that he has the koopalings. The game would be called: "Bowsers" something... If you reaf allat then ill allow you to comment your ideas and opinions for this game name and ill like whatever one i find fitting. THANKS

With Bowser’s bulk and sheer strength, a beat ‘em up or hack-n-slash game would really fit the bill for the guy. Get Platinum Games on it; Bayonetta, but it’s Bowser. You can learn combos and new techniques with Bowser’s claws, shell, and fire breath. 3D exploration elements. I’m thinking of segmented levels instead of a more open world type, since Bowser isn’t exactly known for being as mobile as the Mario Bros. Each Koopaling is a boss for an area, and beating them unlocks their power for Bowser to use. Maybe there are moments where the gameplay switches to an RTS type where you direct minions to take over areas to unlock optional levels. Could be fun! It IS weird, that the black goo that infected Bowser never had its origin named. Bowser is briefly playable in Odyssey, and Peach gets her own game. It does kinda feel like Nintendo’s planning a Bowser game at some point.

I ould see the ending going a little bit more like this. Mario brothers return from their vacation, Peach ad everyone are very reliefed by the brothers return, the brothers question this, but let it go and go inside leaving Peach looks up seeing the Clown Car fly away. She calls for Toadsworth and gives him a letter, Toadsworth sees the letter and is shocked on where it needs to go, but understands. Bowers returns to his castle and as he walks into the throne room he is greeted with a celebration with all his minions and kids there, a banner rolls down with the text BOWERS: HERO OF THE KOOPA KINGDOM. Bowers is still completely flabbergasted by all this before Bowers Jr, drag to his throne, Jr, hands him a letter. Bowers picks the letter and his jaw drops, he shreds the letter open reads it and his fist in the air happy as he can be. We see a bit of the letter showing a picture of a cake. THE END

Yeah, I see a Bowser game involving sumo wrestling. A sumo game with RPG elements could be cool and seeing Bowser wrestle against an antagonist in a sumo wrestling ring would be fun.
