It all looked good and I felt as if it was a great HACK. Yet the Shimano STEPS will recognise a different speed magnet and the motor will stop working - ERROR 050. After putting the original wheels back, it all works fine again and the error disappears.

Hey Danny! I hope you do some more XC race videos/commentary videos. I know they don't perform as well and take a while to make, but they have really helped my fitness and racing a lot! love the great content

Do someone have problem when all put back in original state? When I put it back on yamaha pw st, display is blinking (range, odo etc) and speed sensor doesnt pick up spee (0 km /h) motor is workimg, I ve tested through diagnostics , and in diagnostic program is showing no of turnings of the wheel Bike is haibike alltrail 6 No error message, just everything seems fine, but motor is not working because of not reading speed from sensor (for motor its looks like no sensor)

The question is it still accurate? The magnet is bigger so contact by the sensor will always come earlier and stay longer.

I had the same problem with my orbea rise, I tried lots of different magnets in lots of different positions , and some would work ok for a whole ride but ultimately the error code would always come bac eventually. I hyave had to swap back to original wheels for now

@@trevorcrosta9253 yes mate , I used e tuning app , re-flashes the software and you do not even need a magnet ! Throws a few error codes but doesn’t get in the way of the ride. 27.5 rear end needs shorter cranks but it’s so worth it honestly

@@coop69coop Hi Nigel. My 4 month old Rise has stopped working due to the speed sensor issue (still on original wheels). I've checked the exposed cable and all seems fine so I assume it''s the magnet bolted to the XT rotor. Would re-flashing the software work for me? If so can you tell me what tuning app you used, and would that invalidate the warranty ? I bought the bike online so it's a 300+ mile trip to the dealer if I can't fix it. :(

@@Veyron1967 hi mate , this was all a long time ago now for me but I’ll try my best to remember! I used e-tuning app , it’s a fairly laborious process with the shimano motor but I got there in the end and no more issues .., google the etuning app and there will be lots of tutorials. My bike has an error code permanently and it always bleeps when I first turn it on but it rides like a dream and no speed restrictions

Bosch Slim Speed Sensor Magnet for 6 Bolt Disc!

Have you done this. I have just ordered a new set of wheels for my Scott eride Ransom which has the exact same disc and sensor position as the bike in this vid. The wheel set ive ordered has the six bolt mounting system so Ive had to order new rotors as well so i will need to overcome the lack of a magnet. Ive seen the Bosch magnet for 6 bolt mounting but wondered does the rotor need to have a cut away in the right place or does it just sit in-front of and flush to the rotor.

@@Smegmeister cheers mate Im picking a couple of Hope rotors up on wednesday and the shop also has the Bosch slim speed adapters in stock so I should be able to check compatability before I part with any cash

@@miathemalinoisgsdx1320 did the slim Bosch one fit I’m wondering if it’s small Enough because my problem is that the magnet is to big and is now hitting my frame since I switched rotors and tried putting a specialized magnet which was to fat I am hoping that the Bosch is slim enough

my magnet snapped off my carbon trek rail frame yesterday error 503,does anyone know if the cable pulls apart so i can reattach a new one and how much?its bosch 2021 9.7 bosch kiox.heeeelp
