Hey folks! What an event we had in La Bresse, France! It is Impossible Climb La Bresse 2023. 🇫🇷 The USA team brought their A game with their beastly bikes, aiming to wow the French crowd. But guess what? The French riders, especially our champ Vincent Mougenot, were having none of it! 🏆
Team-wise, France nabbed the gold, with the USA grabbing a solid silver. 🥇🥈

Seems like the 2 strokers do the best on this hill , We have a climb similiar to this in Oregonia Ohio the devils staircase really fun to watch Lots of xr harley"s 4 and 2 strokers classes . Done once a year second sunday in october and lots of vids on youtube , Thanks for a good video really nice !

It seems like momentum and high revs win. The 1st win had a short wheelbase and skinny tire - more density on the footprint? A few more with that set up followed. Great stuff!

#3, I believe it was, in the blue and white suit, at 15:35, had it going on. He did it just right, maintaining good speed and controlling his landings from the jumps. I couldn't do this, now, if I had to, but I will comment, whether I have the right, or not. Some of these riders had no business on this hill, or any others, around this degree of difficulty. Other than that, this was a good watch.

There was 1 two stroke that they showed going up the hill for goodness sakes. Maybe you're having difficulty distinguishing between a four cyl street bike engine and a two stroke.

These climbs are SO bitching to go and see! Well worth a trip and spend a couple days. They are insane in real life. I rode from Nor Cal out to Billings Montana for the 96'th annual Great American Hillclimb and it was great ! Totally entertained the whole time. Travis Whitlock has retired but he was a marvel to watch, he could launch a 4 cylinder hillclimb bike airborne and sideways like it was a 450 MX bike. Harold Waddell was at this race in France, he never lets off, not now not ever. Dusty Beer was also a standout, won the race I was at. Flew over the top way airborne with one hand on the bars, that makes it legal, nothing else was touching. Superman style.

Incredible athletes, as someone who knows nothing about dirtbikes, and not more about engines, could anyone explain the jumpstarting done near the start of the video? (1:42) I would think the engines are just so beefy they need to be geared up manually, but would love to know more!

nah the bike doesnt have an electric starter and it doesnt have kick starter either so they had to start it that way. they used a electric motor with gears same like a bike with a starter

Широкие колеса сзади содают огромный дисбаланс, в куче с мощным мотором и крутым подъемом не удивительно,что мотоцикл так и наравит заднее сальто сделать. По этому те, у кого были узкие колеса сиогли заехать, а широкие покувыркались. Так же большую роль играет настройка подвески, у некоторых была слишком жесткая и они просто пружинили

I feel like the people who were successful going over the top, almost all needed to have their feet on the pegs for balance. I saw many fail near the top and they did not have their feet on the pegs and when they going straight up, near the top, it's almost impossible to keep your balance.

Momentum at the end of the run seems to be the biggest factor of whether a cyclist will power over the top. Without that momentum the rider loses all forward inertia and is like a biker sitting still and trying like crazy to merely balance on the bike when the inertia is needed the most - at the top. A supercharged motor isn't going to help in this situation. Unless of course the rider starts off rather fast at the bottom of the hill. Any rider who starts these hills cautiously and slowly is doomed to fail

So at what point does it count? Do they have to make it across the finish line, does the bike just have to make it across, do both of them have to make it across? I don't really know how this works. It's entertaining as hell and those bikes are absolutely hot rods. I grew up riding dirt bikes and I never heard anything like those. Except for maybe my dad's XR 500
