Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is a first-person shooter video game developed by Splash Damage and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Quake Wars is set in the same science fiction universe as Quake II and Quake 4, with a minimal back-story serving as a prequel to Quake II. It is the second multiplayer-focused game in the Quake series after Quake III Arena.
Quake Wars features similar gameplay to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, but with the addition of controllable vehicles and aircraft as well as multiple AI deployables, asymmetric teams, much bigger maps and the option of computer-controlled bot opponents. Unlike the previous Enemy Territory games, Quake Wars is a commercial release rather than a free download.
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars received mostly positive reviews upon release, although it received some criticism on consoles.
Since 2011, the rights to the game have reverted to ZeniMax Media.

It had to compete with Battlefield 2142 at the time, so it was against some very tough competition.

It was kinda outdated compared to what Battlefield was offering, this looks very reminiscent of DICEs previous Battlefield games, like a mix between Battlefield 2 and 2142 which isn’t necessarily bad thing but compared to Bad Company with real sounding guns and ambience, graphics looking unreal, dynamic destruction, literally had everting going for it at the time.

started my life of playing games from this game. loved it and wish they would remaster it and add more maps and keep the old formula of the game.

First installed, started to play, spawn, instantly dead. retry, same. nice game. 2second was played.

it's not really quake, it's more a redux of Wolfenstein: enemy territory. Quake would never have tanks and ADS

@@forcommentonly2498 quake 2 and 4 were a different game serie. the sequel to quake 1 was quake 3. There's no Strogg in quake 1 or quake 3 EDIT: It's easy to tell, quake 1 and 3 had gothic, hell-ish, occult themes. Quake 2 and 4 were sci-fi bullsh1t

Once i make server rebooting two times in a row by plantiing c4 on last objective at 0-39. Explosives have 40 sec timer. That makes round end with human side losing -> c4 detonate -> last objective destroyed -> humans win and lose at same time -> server goes down and restarting with africa campaign. Three times same map... everyone was so mad and bewildered. I assume that bug is still in game.
