Due to less band gap in germanium than silicon it has more leakage current and due to less shell in silicon temprature stability also better than germanium so silicon is preferred than germanium. Am I right sir.

At 0 kelvin , sufficient amount of heat is not given to a semiconductor due to this its valence electron can not cross the energy band gap Hence they will behave as insulators
