your statement only partially true uranium only emits extreme radiation if it react with something (example nuclear reactor, bomb, etc). if its just a piece of metal anyone can hold it safely without a hazmat suit

It is now we are about to develop a 5th generation nuclear plant and eventually going to use the majority of uranium instead of throwing the "unusable rest products"

Compared to the danger and cost of the other fuels, uranium costs less. That's why it's going to be the main energy source in the future. Markets don't lie. The smart money is betting on nuclear.
