I think being publically attacked by the internet to the point where you can't walk down the street is actually a reason someone might break up with you. Having your life suddenly change in such a dramatic way is something a lot of people didn't sign up for. You can't assume she broke up with him over the failure of his business. This reminds me of a guy I knew who decided to lead music at our youth group. He started teaching himself guitar THAT DAY. We begged him to not do it, but he assured us he could play the 3 songs and sing lead vocals… Sure enough, it was as bad as we expected. Some people don’t know their own limitations and are delusional. Obviously, what the Willy Wonka guy did was worse… robbed the people who came.

So it was basically a failure cos some projection equipment didn't get delivered? Whats a projector gonna do to drastically change the experience? And moreover, where did he order this equipment from? If he is so adamant that this is the primary reason it failed, why won't he disclose who let him down on that front to make it easier for himself? Unless...gasp...he's lying.

Even if we play Devil's Advocate and assume this to be true, all he had to do was delay event to make sure he got all the equipment ready. Short term, you'd get disappointed family and staff. But long term, they'd get the event promised. Instead, he doubled down and ran a barely-functioning event where no one was happy.

What billy has done is theft as he advertised something which wasn’t yet took money therefore he should be investigated by trading standards and the police. I mean it’s common sense that people of course need an explanation and their money which they paid out in order to go to an event. Which wasn’t as advertised. So it’s false advertising. And I’d be an emotional wreck if I was overwhelmed and in this scenario. Don’t he then realise that when the items hadn’t been delivered by a certain time (in good time , not the day before) that he just immediately refund everyone and or cancel the event. I mean what planet had he been living on. If you’re mentally unwell please seek help and don’t continue to think you can run a business and your health. Seek help, that’s most important . So no… somethings amiss here.

well actually, it became that serious when he got overwhelmed with thousands of messages, comments and videos for week. It became that serious when people threatened his health and safety. You're right, the scam he did honestly isn't that serious. Parents lost $50 that they can afford, their kids were disappointed for a day. That situation sucks, but it honestly doesn't deserve the social shunning this guy received in return. It's not that serious. So everyone in the comments should stop acting like it is

the point isn't that he doesn't want to face consequences. He's here doing this interview, that is facing the consequences. I'm siure it wasn't easy for him to put himself out there when he knew the comments would mostly be ones like yours. The point is that the punishment doesn't fit the crime. This guy's mental health has been destroyed because millions of people that weren't even financially affected by the wonka experience, enjoy verbally abusing this man and bullying him for entertainment. No one, including him, said that he shouldn't face consequences. But I believe that no one deserves to have the entire world turn against them and verbally abuse them, even if they did do something wrong on purpose. He just took $50 from these parents, he didn't hurt anyone physically. But you're giving him the same level of hatred that actual violent people get. Getting depression and having the world bully for a business failure is way too severe of a consequence. That's the point.

This guy was clearly a scammer and had a history of trying to scam people, mostly with badly written AI books ("enigmatic wordsmith from the bustling streets of Glasgow" please... don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.) and bad self-help/get-rich-quick schemes (sold from a bad webcam and from his flat's living room) No rational person is buying Coull's victim card here. He still scammed people, and got caught, and he got called out on it. Literally no rational person is treating it/him like the worst person/crime in the world.

The lady doing the investigation on this event said she didn't believe he was scamming on purpose but rather he didn't think the whole thing through lol. He used AI as he is dyslexic. I have a cousin with a very similar personality who I consider mentally ill. This is exactly the kind of thing he would have done if he got the idea. My cousins warped mind would not have perceived the organization and setup of the event as the shambles that it was. He would think the customer’s imagination sees things exactly as he does. I'm convinced the House of Illuminati guy has the same delusional mind. Therefore I'm not 100% sure you can call this a scam.

Sometimes things just don't work out the way it's supposed too. He's put his hands up and knows the event all went wrong and did not go too plan . He closed the event down in the first day and has offered all ticket buyers a refund what else can he do I do feel a bit simpothy for him too think it's went a bit far now . i think the point is this is how you make a person feel when the entire internet attacks them. this guy received thousands of hate comments and threats to his safety. You're right, it's not that serious of an issue. So why is everyone on the internet verbally abusing this man as if it is serious? Whether you like it or not, having the entire world turn against you affects people's mental health, it gives them depression and can be a risk to their lives. He didn't make it a big deal. I don't think this was an intentional scam. I think he really did intend to provide what was promised, but bit off more than he could chew. He didn't know beforehand what was involved with putting together such an event. Rather than cancel or postpone the event, he went forward anyway. That's what got him in trouble. Same thing happened with the Fyre Festival and Elizabeth Holmes.

honestly, i think it's really sad and shameful to see you all pile on in the comments. I actually think there is a chance this guy failed due to just not being good at his job or being terrible at planning, rather than it being an intentional scam. You can see in this guy's face that he is devastated and traumatised from all this. I think if you enjoy piling onto that, then you are responsible for what happens next. He is definitely going to get depression over this, if not have his life at risk. I think unless you are one of the people financially affected, it's weird that you care so much and that you enjoy so much bullying a stranger. We should all act with kindness and empathy first, rather than just following like a sheep and throwing tomatoes at the next public punching bag. I personally want to live in a world where someone can make a mistake and be forgiven. I don't think even if you do something wrong on purpose, you deserve to have the entire world verbally abusing you.

They made it that deep by contacting him personally and threatening him. you're right, scamming parents out of $50 isn't really that big of a deal. But the internet made it a big deal when they turned this into the biggest story in the world for the last few weeks
