hi all just thought id give a round up to the latest comments. its interesting that alot of people are talking about the vibration, and its something i brought up in the two Himalayan episodes. its intyeresting that enfield have shown most of their publicity material with the bike working well on the rough stuff, which im sure it excels at. but with the majority of uk buyers looking to this bike as a middle lightweight adventure touring machine, the vibration which i certainly felt could be a big drawback. im sure you wouldn't find the vibes such an issue when off road. only time will tell if it hits sales of what is otherwise a n excellent machine. i think that the pegs are part of an assembly that is bolted to the frame rather than direct to it, and it may be possible to add some damping to that assembly, im one of those people who likes to find a solution to improve something even though it should be ironed out at the factory but that's modern manufacturing and production lines for you. i also noted that yes indeed there are a wealth of incredibly capable second-hand adventure bikes at bargain prices that could do a far more competent job than the humble HIMI. but when you start climbing into the 6K arena some people will want the confidence of a new machine, but i must admit ive looked at some very low mileage bikes at well under 6k that will serve for many thousands of miles in all conditions without complaint. The Himi 411 is still an excellent choice at give away prices as people start chopping in for the 450, its fair to say that with any long production run model of car or bike, those last units will be as well developed as they are ever going to be and will essentially be the best of the bunch. we fell in love with that bike regardless of it5s moderate power and bought them by the bucket load, it doesn't suddenly become redundant when a revised version comes along. hi Allan, LOL yes indeed it would fly past a standard mk1 escort, i forgot to mention all the Modded escorts i drove as young lad, from Mk 1 Mexicos to Mk2 sports. It was just funny that i got flash backs to those days when i pinned the HIMI. Oh to be young and still have all those escorts and capris id be a millionaire by know LOL. im sure the debate will continue around which is the best small/mid adventure bike, you can be sure other companies will look to catch some of that market. My problem with the bike is the price £6K. For that price I could get a year old V-strom 650 or a host of other bikes. I still think a new 411 at £4K is better value and at that price point, they nothing near it.

Time will tell if the inherent (and excessive?) vibey nature of the engine could hinder more potential buyers. For me, excessive vibes would be a deal breaker, no mater how responsive the engine or the other positive attributes

Everybody skirting around the main issue... vibration! Lots of it too. The handling, power deliver and build quality are great but vibration made me walk away.

This bike would make no sense for me and I dare say for a lot of people. In the 1st year alone I'd have to have 5 services which for me would mean 5 days lost work plus the cost of the services. That's around 3-4k down the pan, which makes this a very expensive bike. The 2,500 service intervals also raises questions about the quality of the engineering doesn't it.

I hope it is better than a Mk 1 Escort, I had a 1600 and that was slow., I also had an 1100 and that could barely make 70.
