Arlington County Fire Department was traditionally an #ArrowXT chassis fleet but has recently transitioned over to the #Enforcer chassis for their four new #Pumpers. They chose to make the switch due to the availability of heavy-duty 13.38” frame rails and a metal dash and rear HVAC plenum cover. Each #Pumper includes an EMS cabinet for storage of ALS equipment and a cabinet on the doghouse to hold ballistic vests. The pump panel valves and intakes are all manual for simplicity. The hosebed at the rear of the apparatus contains recessed hose dividers about 6” back to help when packing hose and keeps everything tucked in. On the officer’s side high rise packs and ground ladders are at a lowered height for ease of access. A separate foam inductor was setup to enable any lines accessibility through a panel. For rubbish and brush fires a booster reel was added on top of the truck, along with a deck gun and two additional storage boxes. A shortened 170” wheelbase allows for easy turning when navigating the tight streets of #ArlingtonVA. Right next to Washington D.C. the urban fire department serves about 25 square miles.

Nice Rig, and I am glad to see that your Engine DOES NOT have any Electronic Valves on the Pump Panel, but is your Throttle Electronic, or is it the Traditional Cable Controlled Vernier Throttle ? I am Old School, and DO NOT like anything Electronic at all on the Pump Panel, to much can go wrong with it.

It’s not possible to purchase the mechanical throttle cable anymore.

@@hihfty they never should have made the throttle control electronic... "Cable Controlled Throttles very rarely gave any kind of issues so let's go ahead, and replace them with electronic computerized throttles, knowing that they can give all sorts of issues in less than a heartbeat without any kind of warning"... Sometimes they just need to leave certain things alone, and not mess with them.

@@kevinswinyer3176 It was a necessary evil for the transition to pressure control governors which you find in most apparatus these days. A hardline cable would not be computable with such a system and would not allow the truck to adjust RPM’s automatically. You can still buy “ old school” pressure relief valves but the throttle knob is still electric behind it.
