I love Gypsy's authenticity. If something is boring, he just says it. If a game is "over" but is still going to be played on for another 5 minutes, he just says it. It's very refreshing. Additionally, he genuinely loses his shit if something amazing happens, which of course is great for the drama. Combine that with excellent game knowledge and he's just a perfect partner with Nyoken. Love your casts guys!

To be fair Helldive's grand uncle, DRG, just got all of its mechanics working perfect in S6. (Most notably the bug armor and armor breaking weapon damage is now as intended.)

First game great for Sharp and from there he committed the sin to play with builds that were so off. Very sad ending for the best Sharp in years. Only reward he gets is that he will be a top seed player next ASL by getting to the semifinals.

Sharp has really good mech, hence he's doing great TvT, TvP. But he just cant get it going with his bio TvZ, you can see it in all of his pro games. Shame, he seems cool, had a great run vs his good matchups this ASL.

I think the problem was that he **didn't** go bio past the first game, at least not as an opening. A lot of this outside of Game 1wasn't his usual TvZ style, and that's unfortunate in a way. Gotta do what you think is right for the Final spot, I guess...

Sharp is a very good player however in this ASL he landed in the weakest Ro16 group avoiding 9 of the top 10 players aside from Snow who he lost to. He then drew the Best possible QF. He made it to a lopsided SF where he was completely outmatched against hero. So currently I've got Sharp in the top 20 and we'll see how he bounces back from this but I can't honestly say his level of play this ASL accurately reflects the top 4 or even the top 8

SPOILER I'm a huge Sharp fan, love the way he plays, seems like a genuinely nice guy. I get the feeling that his Achilles heel is really mental, like, of all the ways to go out I'm really not surprised it was this one for him. I almost feel like he's TOO nice and friendly, like, his "good guy" nature somehow gets in the way of the killer instinct. Like he begins to doubt himself instead of just being ruthless and going for the juggular like someone like Mini might. It's almost like "good guy Sharp" is his comfort zone, and "champion Sharp" would be a huge leap out of that. I'm not a psychologist or anything lol so what do I know, but it definitely appears to be mental and something along these lines to me.

it's really crazy how a single mistake can really tilt a player in the ASL and set him aback for the entire series. Sharp's been playing so well the whole tournament, then in g2 here he did such a silly mistake: he didn't pull scvs in front of the marines after he saw few drones on the 2nd. That wasn't really a though hold, tbh, for a player of his level. It was just a silly silly mistake. From then on it was just a downfall.

Great cast! But Sharp didn't look particularly good in game #1, all that success was just due to an enormous damage the 4 hail mary marines inflicted on the 3rd base which managed to sneak by mostly by chance.

@@Jamesgalc-gs8wu They do and most of them fail if the zerg plays close to perfect and then eventually wins in the late game through superior late game tech such as dark swarm, plague and ultras. It takes Flash to overpower a high profile zerg without relying on any luck, like we had here in game #1, just through the sheer dominance on all fronts.

Is there a reason that Gypsy can't stop playing with the mouse and keyboard while casting? It seems super unprofessional not to mention adds a ton of clicking noises to the broadcast. Maybe get someone who seems to want to be there as a broadcast partner.

I do agree that while he provides a ton of insightful commentary and I like his directness in calling out mistakes and bad plays by players, I think he needs to up the professionalism a little bit. A little bit of banter is fine, but when the first like 10-15 minutes is talking about other games and food, it really feels like he's not taking commentary seriously enough

@@ruhtraeel Give the dude some slack, it's not like we are on the caster's market, it's a very niche game almost nobody else casts. The way to ensure he continues to cast is to let him be his true self and have fun. Not like they are earning tons of bucks to maintain the "professional" standard.

@@chaelcanterbury8787 I'm not saying he's bad or anything, in fact I think he legit has by far the most analytical commentary out of anyone I've ever heard cast, but at the same time, you can't be completely be as unfiltered as your true self. Like I think once the series starts, he does an excellent job, but at the beginning at 14:00, when Nyoken directly asks him what he thinks Caster Park is asking him (in an effort to get back on track), he straight up just says "who cares?" That's going a bit too far I think
