It's a trend to make clay trays with Daiso paper clay, so I wanted to try it before, but I couldn't because it was always sold out, so I finally bought it recently!
So I tried to make a clay tray. 💙
The clay I used is 'paper clay'. Paper clay is similar to air dry clay, but it doesn't seem to lighten when dry like air dry clay.
I bought all the ingredients below at Daiso and used the paint and brush that I already had at home.
✨ Clay | Product number 395636 | ₩500
✨ Sand Paper #220 (4P/SET) | Product Number 57854 | ₩1,000
✨ Disposable art palettes 10 pieces (7 compartments) | Product number 102935 | ₩1,000
✨ Transparent matte varnish 60 ml | Product number 57552 | ₩2,000
Q. How many clay did you use?
A. I used six pieces of clay, but in my case, I threw away a lot of clay because it was dry while filming.
The total amount used is less than 5.
For a long tray, you can think of a tray with one clay, and for a small size, you can make two trays with one clay.
Q. The clay dries and splits.
A. When drying clay, avoid sunlight and heat, dry it in a cool, shady place.
To dry quickly, put it under the sun or blow the air in the dryer, the moisture will fly away quickly and the clay will split.
Also, if you use too much water to make the shape, it dries and splits easily, so it's good to use water with clay loose as shown in the video. :)
And the small cleavage is naturally obscured during the sanding process!
