This is the famous chapter where Wei WuXian falls from a tree, as a way to decide if he'll tell Lan WangJi about his feelings for him. (but the naughty boy won't even tell him after that! 😂).

He was sad because he didn't have anyone that close to him anymore after his biological family died and Wei Ying stayed with Lan Zhan. In the temple, JC asks WY why he (WY) broke his promise of being by his (JC) side all his life and help him. Out of all the characters, JiangCheng and Lan XiChen are the ones who end up in solitude. I don't think JC was homophobic, he just needed someone in his life.

Man, I love this scene so much. When Wei Ying was a child, Jiang Yanli was the only one who showed him unconditional love, but unfortunately her love wasn’t enough. Jiang Yanli was only a child then, and she couldn’t save him entirely. She tried catching him when he fell, but he still broke his leg. When she got older, she was constrained by her position and lack of agency- she couldn’t protect Wei Wuxian when he was the Yiling Patriarch. She saved his life at the very end in Nightless City, but at the cost of her own. To Wei Ying, love meant accepting you’d get hurt, even if the other person loved you unconditionally. But Lan Wangji. Lan Wangji is strong. Lan Wangji’s unconditional love has no caveats. Wei Wuxian can count on Lan Wangji in ways he could never with anybody else; he knows Lan Wangji is able to protect himself and protect Wei Wuxian. Wei Wuxian puts his trust in Lan Wangji and jumps, and it doesn’t hurt at all.

This is one of my favourite scenes in the novel. When WWX realises that he's falling in love with LWJ, but thinks that LWJ doesn't return his feelings, and he's just that good of a person. "If he catches me, then I'll..." "...fall for him even deeper" left unsaid. He seems to be realising that LWJ is a very important person to him, but at the same time, he's also scared of facing his feelings head-on, afraid of being rejected. I also love that after this scene, he prays to Jiang Fengmian and Madam Yu to help him secure LWJ, bc he wants him in his life 🥹

Yes, i wish he was more secure in his feelings. It was sad when XiChen had to tell Wei Ying about Lan Zhan's pain and punishment. If only they talked openly about their feelings, so much sadness could have been avoided.

I felt that the question did it hurt? Has a lot more meaning and much deeper.. then weiying answered thank you for today seems profound and like he was just thanking him from catching him from the tree.. but thanking him for being right there in the moment, for being there all the time after his second life, taking care of him 😢❤ this scene is so deep

@@filmingoverload8861 I used to want to make an edit where LWJ tells WWX for the first time to go to Gusu with him (with JC and WC in the same room), and then the quick scene where WWX wakes up in Gusu after being stabbed by JL and tells LWJ to bring him home. But the problem is that the manhua is really short compared to the AD so I chose to make a lot of other edits first... (tell me if you didn't talk about these scenes) I've got like 4 edits in paralell right now, so I hope at least one of them will be one of the passages you really like in the novel. 🥰

@@haruka_forever yessss those are the scenes I'm talking about. Ohh I see, it would be very difficult to edit but perhaps not all of it like the most important dialogues is that possible? Bc the conversation is long in the book

@@filmingoverload8861 The problem is that I can't always edit the dialogues as I want to because of the background music. It interrupts the dynamic when you have these cuts in the music. And if I remember correctly it was the case in this chapter, that's why I told myself it didn't worth it. Maybe some day a really short version of it(?). I don't know, I work with some inspiration and it strikes when/in a way I don't expect it 😆.

For Phoenix Mountain, I don't think I'll do it (or only when I have made everything else), because there is already a wonderful version of it made by bond and crowlay. Search for MDZS blindfold kiss on youtube and sure you'll find it. It has something like hundreds of thousands of views... @@lorieliemagadia8590 😮 I'm not an expert but I worked in the team who translated the uncensored "every day means every day" chapter of the manhua and WWX says textually that they didn't perform the final bow of their wedding rites and so that they're still unwed 😅. So I can only guess 3 bows are needed for marriage. If I'm correct the first is to Heaven and Earth, the 2nd to parents and the last to each other. 🤫
