Ce qui se pal is not what's wrong, it's supposed to be ce qui se passe. In fact, ce qui se passe actually means "what is happening". "Qu'est ce qui se passe?" means what's going on?

considering she didn't accurately translate the phrase into English or Japanese.. idk about that LOL 무슨 일 있어 = "what happened?" or "what's wrong?" in English & in Japanese it'd be "何があった？” (nani ga atta) not just 何(nani), which just means "what?"

​@@minachoi1042 머선 일이고? is like a meme phrase in Korean and it doesn't directly translate to "what happened?" but more like "what in the world is going on? (or simply wtf)". It is used more as a confused or surprised reaction rather than a genuine question out of curiosity. So Giselle's translation to English is not so bad. Plus, I'm bilingual but I suck at translating between my languages - it's difficult to find the most accurate translation in a short amount of time. What I mean is that being insufficient at translating doesn't necessarily mean no fluency in the language. I believe there will be more chances for Giselle to show her language skills in the future!

Yep! I learn it in a french-canadian tv show! The MC went to South Korea for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, and he met a french-canadian woman who live in South Korea, and she taught at him that when you say this sentence "qu'est-ce qu'il y a" fast , it sounds like a korean curse word lol.

Oui! Mais quand même elle sait des petit mots, hehe! Français c’est très difficile à prononcer ou parler! Elle a juste fait la traduction des mots et pas la phrase! En plus, je ne sais pas ton pays mais moi je dis « Qu’est qui s’ passe? » elle a pronuncie tout les mots donc ce ne p’as très naturel… mais quand même c’est impresionante qu’elle connaît ce mots!

@@sunnyexo-l Honnêtement la contraction des mots est utilisée lorsqu'on a l'habitude de parler une langue. C'est tout à fait normal de tout prononcer quand on a un niveau entre scolaire (appris en cours) et intermédiaire (ou sinon ça dépend de son éducation ou de l'environnement dans lequel on vit, par exemple, dans le cas de cette phrase, je dis tous les mots). La contraction est généralement utilisée lorsqu'on a soit pu vivre quelque temps dans un pays (en parlant avec les locaux), soit en regardant beaucoup de vidéos ou films venant de ce pays en répétant les phrases dites. Il semble qu'elle a juste appris le français et l'espagnol à l'école et peut-être un peu en dehors car Giselle aime les langues étrangères. Quand je vois comment elle a traduit cette phrase/question en Japonais, on ressent bien qu'elle est japonaise car elle utilise la version parlée et super abrégé. Si on devait traduire exactement mot par mot, ça ne donnerait pas juste "Nani?". Au final, aucune langue n'utilise le mot à mot ou les formes complètes d'une phrase dans le langage courant. Mais je suis étonnée de voir qu'elle arrive quand même a trouvé une sorte de traduction pour ça. Je ne sais pas comment les profs apprennent le français à l'étranger, mais c'est intéressant à savoir. Aussi, j'ai également été surprise d'entendre la façon dont elle a prononcé cette phrase. On sent qu'elle a vraiment pris des cours de français à un moment donné. Une personne japonaise ou coréenne qui lirait cette phrase l'aurait prononcé autrement. (Je viens de l'extrême sud-est de la France, assez proche de l'Italie).
