It didn't look good because we were looking close at the picture the moment he finished it, the painting determined that the painter was painting a bigger picture and that bigger picture was the one he was actually thinking in his mind he actually wanted to paint it giving life to the vision he had in his mind

Bob Ross is wet on wet Oil Painter its not a fair comparison. Oil lends itself to more detail work if that's what your looking for.

there are subtitles, but yes, his approach is so clear and direct that you don't need them. i watched it first time w/out subs, and then with, and all i missed was the names of the colours.

This was so cool! I had my jaw on the floor most of the time, the moving from light to dark colors so you don't have to watch the brush, the very helpful diagram of shading in pencil, how the branches were added in around the leaves, it was so cool! Watercoloring has always seemed too hard and intimidating but now I think I'll try out some watercolors after my finals! Thank you for sharing this!

Most easy to follow videos, thank you. I normally use too much paint, despite feeling I have only prepared a little bit. But I have had a lot of pleasure from following these tutorials, they are calm, so I don’t get stressed, even when I’ve been too heavy handed. Shibasaki, thank you for the music, your calm voice, your clear explanation, especially of the need for shading, the impact of the sun on objects. I’m much happier now I have followed your link explaining how to get the English subtitles, so I won’t be missing your information anymore. Thank you.

Hello! I watched this video a while back a few years ago. I'm an art student so this helped a lot because I like using trees in my paintings :) I remember this helping me so much back then because it taught me colour theory and how lighting works in trees and subsequently other things too. That shadowing technique is amazing! I usually do fairly simple pencil drawings, but watercolors had always seemed so difficult to get that right with. This was incredibly helpful!
