【Synopsis】Former professional snooker genius Lin Yiyang met the popular nine-ball player Yin Guo on a rare snowstorm night. With the help of Yin Guo's cousin, they got to know each other. Often times these actors and actresses even have to come out and "apologize" for not being goodlooking enough. Also Asia has a very specific type casting for lead roles. As far as English goes, my understanding is that that actor attended college in the US for a period of his life. Hence, why his English is even better than the male lead's(which is very good too). And although he's perfectly fine looking, I do agree that by Asian standards, I'm not sure that he would be handsome enough or have the proper aura to carry male lead roles.
