该剧改编自亦舒经典同名小说。
　　出身于上海普通人家的95后女孩麦承欢（杨紫饰），在母亲刘婉玉（何赛飞饰）的催促下，与男友辛家亮（牛骏峰饰）议婚。但辛家优渥的经济条件让这段原本平等的感情关系变得失衡，同时，麦母对女儿终身大事的过度插手，加速了麦承欢和辛家亮的分手。在孝顺父母和忠于自我之间，麦承欢艰难求索，她逐步从母亲强势的关爱中挣脱，在工作上更专心进取。麦承欢的蜕变得到了继祖母的认可，把自己最看重的酒店经营重任托付给她。继祖母的亲孙、职业酒店经理人姚志明（许凯饰）在与麦承欢的合作中逐渐对她理解并认同，俩人成为工作伙伴，携手并进。而在生活中，姚志明被麦家烟火气之下的真情包围，与麦承欢的感情逐渐升温。从“承欢膝下”到“成就自我”，麦承欢走出了一条独属于自己的不平凡的成长之路。
►Synopsis:
Mai Chenghuan, who comes from an ordinary family in Shanghai, was urged by her mother, Mrs. Liu, to discuss marriage with her boyfriend Xin Jialiang. However, the favorable economic conditions of the Xin family made this originally equal relationship unbalanced. At the same time, Mrs. Liu’s excessive interference in her daughter's lifelong affairs accelerated the breakup between Mai Chenghuan and Xin Jialiang. Torn between filial piety to her parents and loyalty to herself, Mai Chenghuan struggled to find a way out. She gradually broke free from her mother's strong love and focused more on her work. These writers went off in another tangent from the characteristics of the Mom. She has the love of her family & a new son-in-law that cares for her deeply. Unless her strong front is only when things are going well. Or she's testing the love of her family unconsciously. When her daughter finds her & fussed at her mother, the Mom deserved it. Then she get very hot food for her daughter & son-in-law to eat. That's totally messed up mentality.

In my family, it is very hard to accept divorce, especially divorce when you have young children involved. The child will be shifted between the mom and dad’s new families. My cousin grew up in a divorced family, constantly moving and having to accept new step parents. It was very hard for them to focus in school. The parents were constantly fighting at home so the children had to suffer. Divorce with young children will produce children who fear marriage too.

真受不了劇裡這個媽的個性，沒事就愛整一些妖蛾子出來。家裡每個人都慣著她，什麼事都不能瞞著她，還必須是第一個知道的，不然就說大家不尊重她，這個母親就是一個無知婦女。真要做一個「好」老人，就自己定期去治療，去檢查，治好了，跟家人說現在沒事了，治不好，就召集大家跟大家提前告別。我是兩個孫女的媽，獨居，凡事自己來，沒事不打擾年輕家庭的秩序，若真的得了重病，這就是我的處理方式。

I see growth in the mom, though she drove me crazy in the beginning of this drama. She's been humbled and is softer in her approach to each of the children, including the in-laws. What more could we want? Now she just has to get over this last hurdle, whatever it is, and discover that she's truly loved and has not missed the best of what life has to offer.
