He didn’t trust her enough to keep her informed about what was going on. He didn’t respect her enough to tell her the truth about his plan for reinstate her as lead programmer. He just took away the thing he promised her, that she had worked for, and just expected her to suck it up. She cooked for him, his favorite foods including things she was allergic to-did he ever reciprocate? Or even say thank you? By the time she asked for a divorce it was too late for him to ask why. There are a lot of reasons why, but bottom line: she does not feel loved or respected by him.

I think this was a devastating blow to Jiang. Over the line. But I think her character is scared to be hurt again and so she hurts him in her trying to protect her heart. I don’t hate her but am very disappointed in her. And yes, if she tells him the baby is his, she will always doubt his love for her is pure and not “because of the baby”.

I know right!!! I was like now she took it tooo far! Like now ofc he is gonna leave cuz he can't can't anything now cuz for him that child is the final blow and it's game over for him. So ofc he is gonna leave and also this is more messed up that she is still not officially divorced with him!! I am starting to hate her character now and starting to feel sorry for her husband to have such an evil and cruel wife.

She is not divorced from him because he has refused to sign the divorce papers. Otherwise she left him and they are Separated. But I do think it’s crappy to let him think the baby isn’t his-but in this story, it makes sense because she knows he will want to take responsibility for the baby and thinks he will pretend to love her for this. She just wants to be loved and trusted for herself.

Beg to differ with respect for your opinion. He had already (more than once) told her and shown her that he loved her and was sorry he had been so stupid and oblivious to her feelings before.. He had already explained that he had no relationship with Li Man and that she had caused Lu Li to misunderstand. He had already shown his sincerity. So she should have already known that he wanted to stay married because he loved her. This show is a great drama, but this one element was illogical for the character of Lu Li and a very unlikable character trait. She wanted open communication all through the drama but cut him off many times when he tried to explain (when they were together in the first half). She gave him the cold shoulder after they separated because she thought he didn't love her and again didn't communicate and then she (the character) did this very cruel thing, when logically he had already shown clearly that he loved her. It was a plot device used by the writers to draw out the drama ,but it became a story element that just didn't reasonate with the rest of the script. It was too out of character for me. IMO 😔

To clarify-I meant that for this drama she had to allow him to think the baby wasn’t his-so that she could be sure he wasn’t trying to get back to her just to be responsible. (In real life she should have told him she was pregnant right away!) You seem pretty sure that “logically he had already shown clearly that he loved her”. When was that? I know he just TOLD her earlier in the episode that he loved her (I think that was the first time he ever told her, right?) and that he was sorry for everything. And a few episodes back, he told her that he figured out that it was Li Man’s father who had chased her and that Li Man deleted her demo. Great. And no, he didn’t cheat on her with Li Man, but he did break his promise to her that he would not hang out with Li Man without her, several times. It’s fine to say that Li Man caused all the misunderstandings but she would not have been able to if he had been a better husband and stick with his wife and not kept going off with Li Man (regardless of whether he was cheating). She would not have had the opportunity to put lipstick on his shirt if he had not gone to a hotel room with her and Andrew for a meeting he kept secret from his wife. When you say he already clearly showed he loved her… when? When has she felt for sure that he loves her Vs that he’s just being an upstanding man and “taking responsibility to do the right thing”? I think she believed him right up until he told her that he remembered sleeping with her-and then tells her that if she had admitted to it, none of this would have happened. That implies (to her at least) that he is taking responsibility for sleeping with her (? That he feels guilty for doing this while drunk?). If he hadn’t said that, I think she would have believed him. She is so scared that he doesn’t really love her after she loved him for so long and wore her heart on her sleeve, and took care of him, and cooked his favorite meals, and never was acknowledged. She is scared that he was only saying he loves her to fulfill the commitment to their fake marriage, or because he feels guilty for what she suffered, or that he feels guilty for sleeping with her. (And if she tells him she is pregnant and then he wants to be with her, she will always suspect that he is just saying he loves her to take responsibility for the baby.) Again-this is necessary to this drama (not for real life) And their communication SUCKS! You say he was willing to explain-but one word from her and he explains nothing? He gets cut off trying to say that he did it because he loves her and instead of just saying. It anyway, he just clams up? When he made the decision to deny her the lead programmer role he had promised her but had a plan to reinstate her once she won the contest, did he ever tell her that? No, he didn’t. And his excuse was because there were outsiders in the room at the time. As if he couldn’t have told her later that day or any other time. It’s so odd to me that someone cutting you off means that you won’t tell them something so important. He didn’t even try.

I do seriously want to know all the ways he showed he loved her. I need to go back and watch again I think. Also (gasp) people have been known to become pregnant by people they are not in an actual loving relationship with! That’s why they should have used protection. I mean, Jiang himself slept with her while he was drunk (not exactly a memory to tell the grandchildren) and I don’t think either of them were intending for her to get pregnant. They weren’t even in a real marriage.)

This so called test was STUPID. WHO actually does that in real life. If you love someone, and you know they have moved on, then you won't be selfish about it, you won't chase after her anymore to give the love of your life more trouble...In Yi Cheng's case, giving up on pursuing her doesnt me he stopped loving her, he just accepted that it's impossible for them to be together again since Lu Li already moved on and is pregnant with someone else's baby..... And she let that happened! When Yi Cheng rationally asked her "is it true...." SHE was the one who hurted him directly in that scene.... Lu Li shouldn't have done that if she care about him, that's just wrong, her boss was stupid to give advise about love when he's not an expert himself!
