Synopsis:
Adopted as an orphan, Fu Yao served as a slave for the Xuan Yuan sect in the Taiyuan Kingdom. After a series of tragedies, she journeyed across the lands, searching to lift the curse that blighted her life. This is a reimagining of the story of Lady Fu Hao, who overcame her origins as just another concubine at the court to become the Emperor's favourite and to truly fall in love with him. She then went against society at the time and, with her husband's reluctant support, became a warrior. During her time at the front, she fought shoulder to shoulder with the emperor (her husband) and the other soldiers, without the need to hide her identity as a woman, and she was even one of those responsible for driving the Assyrians out of China. As a reward for her achievments in the battlefield and for her valour, she was promoted to general and given a whole battalion to lead To this day she is known as The Warrior Queen. After her death she was the only woman to ever be given a place of honour in the private mausoleum of the Shang Dynasty and then, over the following generations, she was worshipped as the goddess of war, acquiring the legendary status she has today...

@CarolsCurrentObsession Yes and no. There is bittersweetness but they are eternally together. The ending shows their original purpose for going down to protect the people (he will accompany and protect her at all costs) and, I guess, the place where they return to together.

I will also recommend watching "Sword Snow Stride" It takes a few episodes to get going and introducing the main characters but once you start it will keep you awake for days.
