【Synopsis】In ancient times, humans mixed with deities and demons, the world consisted of Shennong, Xuanyuan and Gaoxin. Wandering in Dahuang, Jiu Yao from Gaoxin lost her identity and appearance. She settled in Qingshui Town and renamed as Wen Xiaoliu. The Prince Qiang Xuan of Xuanyuan was Xiaoliu’s cousin. To find Xiaoliu, he travelled around Dahuang and came to Qingshui Town. In Qingshui Town, Xiaoliu saved Tushan Jing in danger and fell in love with him. Xiang Liu and Xiaoliu appreciated each other and became confidants. After a few twists and turns, Qiang Xuan and Xiaoliu eventually recognized each other. After recovering her identity, Xiaoliu helped Qiang Xuan bring the whole world under his rule and retired from the rivers and lakes. I replayed Xiang Liu's song a couple of times. It's a scary song, but at the same time, it's so haunting and romantic. You can really hear the hurt, pain, and love he has in his heart for Xiaoyao. He put all the feelings he's been hiding in his heart in that song.

Now I understand why Xiaoyao said those things about Jing in season 1. We all know Jing loves Xiaoyao. She's his world. His everything. He's willing to risk everything for her. Even if it means his life. His friend's uncle told him how dangerous doing this thing to help him regain his memories is. There are some truths better left unknown. But Jing kept insisting. Seeing his memories makes me hate his family even more than I did in season one. It's bad enough that his grandmother drugged him to be with that thing. But to get their way, they used his weakness, Xiaoyao to control him and get what they wanted. How evil, disrespectful, selfish, and despicable can they be. None of them care about him. But to use his weakness? Why keep hurting this man? I just feel so bad for Jing. I hate that his character is part of a family like that.

I was watching the grandfather watching Cang Xuan who was drinking much after she agreed to marry and then the grandfather stopped him from saying more to her when he captured the messenger bird back. That grandfather is totally aware of what Cang Xuan is thinking and stops him. Grandfather is pretty doggone smart. He knows she loves Tushan Jing and he knows Cang Xuan loves her (not just as a sister). Still hooked and in it for the total story. My heart is always with the demon who shouldn't be in any girls dreams.

Xiang Liu might not play the guqin as famously as Tushan Jing, but he can still play a love song with flair like an c-drama fantasy rock star...probably his way of confessing his love to XY using her father's lyrics to her mother---not what I expected in this scene! XL (like XY's father) is willing to sacrifice himself in hopes of being a part of XY's heart/remembered by her.

of the 3 men, her brother's love scares me the most. He is her brother, but he loves her as a woman, wants her to be his wife and dreams about it. He is abnormal. I can feel that Cang Xuan is getting more and more possessive of Xiao Yao and slowly losing his sanity in this episode. Although I do not like this vibe, I can empathize with him. He feels that XY is getting farther away (as in romantic potential) step by step. He has held in his yearning, conflict, and agony for so long that he can’t seem to bear anymore. If he doesn’t reach out now, he feels he will, in time, lose her forever (how fitting of the title, both the Chinese and English). It is painful to see. At the end, I hope he can find peace, perhaps with the help of grandpa who already seems to know.

While I appreciate Xiang Liu's depth of feelings: 1. He implanted a bug to cord them together - that never goes well for the one who cast the spell. 2. Although it seemed odd for him to sing (nine headed demon) it seems as though he was trying to convey he just wants her to remember him but she is oblivious. He thumps her head since she refers to his nine heads disrespectfully. I don't go for thumping on someone but this is just a movie. She has always mentioned his heads and he is lightly annoyed. Here he was singing his heart to her and she is wise cracking. Seems about right. No matter that he loves her I think she wouldn't be good for him since she never really understands his love for her. I am trying not to feel sad for him by looking at it like this.

I think the reason he sang the song is to hint her about her parents. He relates to the song hence the passion… XL is on a mission to make her dislike or hate him so that when he’s gone she won’t be sad:(
