@@ionelaizareanu2899 hi. The title is wrong. This is a drama more about sort of business woman, woman trying to go into corporate world. I checked first 2 episodes then dropped it. Main leads are wu Jinyan and the guy she met but they apparently don't end up together i read in comments.

Simply portraying someone saying something isn't "normalizing" it. You, as the viewer, are clearly meant to see how hurtful the words were to the person she said it to. That's the exact opposite of what you're claiming is going on.

@@Haylla2008 The comment IS generally accepted in most societies, therefore the fact that it is used as a line of scene is normalising it. As a woman myself I cringed as the line was delivered because it would never be used to describe the incompetence of a man (as a new parent). This is the idea I tried to convey in my previous comment.

@@montsec.vargas9945 Here you see the woman make the comment, the comment hurt the other woman, and the original woman seem like she realizes she shouldn't have said it. Context matters. You can't just say "these words exist in a medium, therefore normalization!". The intent of the writer here is clearly "Look at this bad thing. We shouldn't do this." I'm pretty sure many of the other dramas you've seen it in have the same context where it's shown as a bad thing. Her comment may be generally accepted in certain countries but the fact that you're seeing it presented as a negative means society is already realizing it's not a good thing. Also, men don't go through the same hormonal changes women do when they become new parents. "Pregnancy brain" and "new mom brain" are very real things. It wouldn't make much sense for men to be subject to those comments as they don't have that experience.

@@Haylla2008 They might not experience mum brain but they experience sleep deprivation which can lead to the same thing. However, it is almost never used to describe male inability to work (in this case it would make perfect sense to use it, I believe you have a biased opinion and I respect it). We have different meanings of the word normalising and as I read your previous comment I guess there is no point in discussing it as we clearly don’t see eye to eye. I can write whatever I want as I am not being disrepectful, who are you to tell me what I can’t or can do?? Besides to normalise means to return to normal or usual/accepted situation. The fact they this comment is even written as part of drama scene is appalling in 2021 (regardless of sex and gender) , this is all I am saying. Have a lovely day.

Excessive progesterone and oxytocine during pregnancy and then drops in hormone levels after birth is what causes it. Men's brains can change after birth, particularly if they are the primary caregivers but, it's still not by the same process or to the extent that it happens to women. Yes we do have different definitions and yours is wrong. From merriam-webster Normalize: to make conform to or reduce to a norm or standard. In this case, the writer is doing the exact opposite of conforming to a norm. They're trying to point out the wrong of the norm. I never told you that you couldn't write something. I called you wrong... because you are by any reasonable standard. Context matters. Context matters. Context matters. If there's anything you should learn, it is that CONTEXT MATTERS. If someone shoots someone in a war movie, you aren't going to say it automatically normalizes it. It's just telling a story. Most war movies are about the horrors of war. They aren't glorifying it. Check your logic, please.
