▶Synopsis:
Gongsun Li, a beautiful commoner, has been studying Kung Fu from her grandfather alongside two senior apprentices ever since she was a little girl. During her youth, she saves a boy named Ying Zheng, who later becomes the King of Qin. Her world is turned upside down when war breaks out amongst the warring states and her grandfather is killed by the Qin army. As a result, Gongsun Li is forced to flee her hometown. Her longtime senior, Jing Kie, is then poisoned for attempting to protect her. In order to obtain the cure for Jing Ke, Gongsun Li chooses to marry the king, Ying Zheng, who is responsible for invading her nation and murdering her grandfather. Soon after, Gongsun Li discovers that she is pregnant with Jing Kie’s child. When Ying Zheng’s discovers Gongsun Li’s pregnancy, he comes to her aid by claiming that he is the father of the child, which deeply moves Gongsun Li. In order to ensure the safety of Gongsun Li and her child, Han Shen, Gongsun Li’s other senior, chooses to become an imperial bodyguard in the palace. Faced with the dangers and perils of life in the palace, Gongsun Li develops into a strong woman and eventually earns people’s respect through her wisdom and kindness.

Only when losing someone you love, the king will understand the pain of it. Great respect to all the people who has been sacrificed. I feel so bad for Gongsun Li, was lied to and had to witness the deaths of people she cared for. (Director did an amazing job instead of always having a happy ending, showed us the reality of history)😭🫡

She created this problem with lies and self serving righteousness that ended killing everyone that she loved. Child it's so many things she did that was wrong that started this ball of mess to turning. She was not an honest person and because she was stubborn and impulsive she deserved her ending. Every character she plays has this attitude.

Always having happy ending? There is no such thing in Chinese dramas. And even the supposedly happy endings are quite bland. The stories are nice but they don't seem to know how to end dramas.

There are other versions of this specific era in history with different endings. The King of Qin that united China into one country really did an outstanding job to unify China, but sacrificed so much, too. He is portaryed as a mad king, a tyrant, etc. in this version.

Now imagine how many skilled people it takes to create an actual size throne room take the footage of one scene with so many different angles and an actual sword stabbing and dying scene where the sword needs to come out of the actress without actually harming her. I watched all the episodes. All the actors' performances are magnificent, sets, costumes, special effects are wonderful. Great story. History that shows reality. I have watched all 48 parts of this series. The actors in this are the best that I have ever seen. Because of their excellent portrayal in each scene, I laughed when it was happy and was brought to tears in the sad scenes many times. Thank you for bringing this to youtube, there are no good movies in America any more.

This is an AMAZING complex drama! Thank you for the subtitles! Hats off to the AMAZING cast and writers! Zhang Binbin acting skills are AWESOME!! So much emotion and depth to bring compassion to the ruthless King. Jing Ke and the King both suffered seeking revenge. Han Shen and Li Er suffered seeking love. Tragic ending. 😞

A very exciting and amazing story. Full of learnings and life's realization. This story happens in everday life. The writers diectors the team productions are splendid. Wow! I really admire Zhang BinBin's acting very emotional besides being very cute expressive eyes. The 2 boys and the 2 girls are really awsome. Is this really true story? Bullying and bad experiences on chilhood really have a great effect on a person. I pity the king who is devoid of love and affection. Trust versus mistrust. Thank you. My 3rd time watching this drama. Love it!

Loved the story and can understand the philosophy behind the ending, but I still wish it had a happy ending where he couldn’t kill her either. Took almost a whole box of tissues to get through all the episodes, especially the last two. I am now addicted to these shows, please do more with happier endings.

Binbin is a skillful actor. I watched it because of him. Such a complex character!ruthless cold blooded manipulative king perfectly played by Zhang Binbin. King is obsessed with Li er, he doesn't love her. He is possessive, obsessive, jealous, unkind, brutal towards her. Though she never cheated on him nor she is disloyal but he never trusts her. Maybe because he is not a trustworthy person that's why he doesn't trust anyone. Not even Li er.on the other hand Li er is so devoted towards him. She believes his lies about peace and prosperity. She is good that's why she sees good in others. No matter how much dark the king is, she sees light in him. So much contrast in both characters! I ❤this drama. There is no way it could be a happy ending!! The king is an evil maniac. He doesn't deserve a happy ending...jin ke is also a selfish egoistic character. Han shen is a balance character.he is brave, selfless. He is best for Li er. They should have kept him alive. I feel sorry for him.

I can't stop my tears in last 2 episodes... I hope there is someone who take Li er body and God give her a miracle to live and be together with Tiang Ming... They actually loved each other. His jealousy, insecurity and rage ruined everything, his one chance at happiness. PS: it's clear that he has PTSD due to his traumatized childhood. And he was ready for them to kill each other, to die at her side. Lol. Jing Ke probably was thinking that he should not have saved that young boy when they were still a kid. That young boy took everything from him and grew up to be a "monster".

YUP!!! it was Li Er mistake who save his life twice as child. Then she saves his life again at the restaurant when first meet he is the King. Then she saves his life 2times after she forces to marriage him. That is no excuses to kills just because of your traumatized childhood!!! You been through bad times, you should know how suffering it was!!!! You should not do the same to others if you are compassionate!!! He has no Wisdom, that's why he put all anger into revenge!!!

IMO, Dilraba is a great performer. She acts, emotes, sword fights, martial arts, etc. Huge body of work in about 8 years. The betrayal of Qing'Er may have been the last straw. Ok, on to The Flame's Daughter! ❤

The ending is so sad but I'm not gonna lie and say I had to use the whole box of tissues to wipe my flowing tears because there were none. I feel so sad that Li Er had to die at the hands of the man she loved but the truth is that she shouldn't have told him that she wanted him dead, that alone was enough to make the king doubt her love for him. She knows the kind of person he is but she still pushed his buttons. I've seen a lot of sad endings but this is the only drama that I feel like everything could've been avoided. I loved the king and his goal to reunite the world was the best, it is just sad that in the end, he had to lose the people he loved because he couldn't trust anyone and now that I think about it, I think he also doubted himself at least two or three times a day. I think the only reason I can't feel sad for Jing Ke's death is that I hate people who can't accept that some things are just not meant to be. He loved Li Er but he isn't the first person to lose someone he loves. Han Shen also loved Li Er, he loved her more than the two of them (The king & Jing Ke) but he didn't linger around because he saw that he didn't have a chance. Great drama btw. Hats off to the cast and crew.

@@brendajones5411 We all have our first loves, we have moved on. It's not about the king not accepting, it's about Li Er not moving on. She failed to move on and eventually led to the disaster. Like I said before, all of that could've been avoided.

I think u r right I don't see why Li Er could not move on yet she gave Jang ke a chance but he refused to take it not once but twice, yet she eventually found a man who loved and even accepted her illegitimate child. Secondly the King and her had a deal which she accepted.So the King was not a home wrecker there was no home to wreck in the first place n now that Jing ke had a chance to do those greater things which made him reject Li, why again was he wasting time wrecking the King's home? I only feel sorry for the King who grew up with a crezy family making him doubt everyone including himself n a lover who kept telling him that she wanted him dead.... don't blame him for eventually believing her!

I think the issue is after everything they had been through he still DIDNT trust her. You think the feelings they had would have showed exactly how she felt about him. So even if she said “Ill kill you” he should have knew she wasnt serious. He had serious issues with trust and it cost him a lot. Dont get me wrong he was a king but you would think he would have slowly gained trust in the relationship they had. She saved him MANY times.

Anyone remember the story of Scarlet Hearts Ryo? The 4th and the 7th prince got involved with the same woman and later impregnated by the 4th prince who became a king and been left alone too? The woman also died in that era. I had watched the Korean version. This A King's Woman has a bit of touch of that drama. I Think this is one of the rarest best costume drama that I have seen considering it's Vince Zhang and Dilraba Dilmurat's team up. Quite engaging

@@brendajones5411 The historical King of Qin did go on to be one of the greatest kings in history and he unified China, becoming its emperor. He never had a queen however. The only woman he wanted as queen was the one whom he killed.

Cried at the ending. Couldn't believe that she did that but same time, only thing that makes sense. He needed to learn the truth of positive emotions to understand the loss others feel at his actions.

This king was still blinded by his delusional emotions. He could have used other approaches to get what he wanted but then, life is usually like this, after WW2 did we in the present day world reflect on our misdeeds. Now most of the people who didn't experience it are pushing for war. This movie is truly a master piece. I commend actors and background personnelsvwho were able to bring this movie to life.🎉👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🎉

So many of these stories have a heroine that suffers a tragic ending because her man eventually betrays her. In this case, he betrays her over and over. It was frustrating to see her be betrayed so many times

To be honest I was hesitant to watch this drama but after I watch only the first episode I discovered that I was totally wrong. And after finishing the drama,along with a box of tissues,I really regretted waiting until now to watch this unique and incredible masterpiece,especially with Dilraba Dilmurat as the main female lead. The ending is too sad. I feel that the King deserves to be happy with the woman he loves, after all he can accept Jing Ke’s son and loves him like his own and Li Er has also grown to love him. Yan Dan should not hv attacked the Qin. After all the King treats him like brother. If Li Er did not help him to escape, he would not hv the opportunity to attack Qin and all those who sacrificed their lives for him need not hv to die also. Li Er, Tian Ming and Yi Zheng can live happily. Li Er can influence Yi Zheng to be a good king. Tian Ming will hv a happy life with Yi Zheng and Li Er. Now he becomes an orphan. Jing Ke is very selfish. What did he achieve by doing what he did? Nothing only more misery for Tian Ming, Yi Zheng, Yan Shen has to die, Fan has to die. He could hv moved on his life with Lan Er and everyone will be happy. Yan Dan can be the King in his own right. What is so bad to submit to Qin. After all is not like he has the power to do great thing. He should be happy to be able to return to his own homeland and be his own king. I thought that was what he wants in the first place. Back to his homeland. Did not expect him to become ambitious and lead to the death of so many. Thus is he any better than Yi Zheng? No, many people hv to forgo their happiness to satisfy his desire to acquire power. In the end no one wins. Yi Zheng becomes miserable as he lost his wife and son. Yan Shen died, Lan Er lost her loved one, Tian Ming becomes an orphan instead of future King, Jing Ke died and Li Er died. Not forgetting also King’s faithful Da Chong who also had to sacrifice to take the stab from Jing Ke. Le Er greatest mistake is to let Yan Dan escape. Otherwise everyone can be happy.

Lol how convenient to not analyze the sociopathic traits of the king. It wouldn't matter if everything went in his favor. He is NEVER SATISFIED. He kills villages when he's upset. We all go thru disappointments in life and yes his life sucked but killing is what makes the tyrant happy. He does not love her child. He wanted to use him to make the 1sr become jealous and possibly kill the kid. Like did you skip that episode?

Thank you!!!! At least someone knows and speaks the truth. I hate that the king had to be miserable in the end. This could've been avoided. I used to love Jing Ke but the fact that he wanted the king dead and didn't look at how that will affect Li Er was so selfish of him. He should've done what other people do when they lose someone they love to someone else, MOVE ON!! There's no shame in accepting defeat sometimes.

One of the beautiful cdrama i watched although it end up in tragedy.,all the characters teach us gave us each what is life and living is all about, before you appreciate happiness you need to feel the pain..sacrifices if you what to gain something..,also the beautiful and best performance of dilraba dilmurat and zhang bin bin,also salute to those people tirelessly translate this into english language..without you guys we can never appreciate this kind of drama❤😊

The fragments of civil aunts really reflect how tragic and painful the disasters brought to mankind by historical wars! ! Thinking of these tears are dreaming down. It is really difficult to understand without personal experience. Li'er is very kind-hearted since she was a child, so in the end, she would rather sacrifice her life for the King in order to made him become a good king than kill him for revenge for her senior brother. This is the bright moon heart of Li-er- pure and noble!. The King wanted to dominate the world and make the world peaceful, so he had to use benevolent means and don't hurt the innocent. The title of the show interpreted in English should be The Moonlight Heart of the Beauty in Qing, which can truly reflect the deep meaning expressed in the play, that is, only selfless love can make the world peaceful.

AMAZING... script &cast, thanks for the subtitles,never expected a tragic ending. I don't like tragedy , even then I followed till the last episode. I was admiring the AWESOME performance of Zhang binbin,WOW you are excellent _the ruthless King of Qin. Started to watch this drama because of the two skilful actors Binbin &Dilraba I like their chemistry,the last words of Li er is really so emotional. Han sen, jing ke are all skilful actors

Loved the ending 😊he deserved this❤he was so brutal that he passed the sword brom the body of the bodyguard also. He never loved anyone .it was just that he want to aquire all things for himself. Now he lost everything and he would be happy 😁😁😁😁😁. I just wished that before dieing li er should say to him that " now everything is yours. You killed everyone 🥰 you should be happy. This is his punishment so for him to kill the love of his life and he can’t live with the thought of killing more people. He is just a brutal monster and mistrusts everyone around him. (His best acting ever. Zhang Binbin you are just an excellent actor!)
