▶【Synopsis】Set during the Ming Dynasty, the story revolves around the romance between General Xu Lingyi and the concubine's daughter Shiyiniang that starts from an arranged marriage. Despite being born with a low status, Luo Shiyiniang is extremely assertive and believes that a woman's vision should not be limited to the household. She hopes to rely on her embroidery skills as a ticket to freedom. However, the once esteemed Luo family is in a state of decline. Hoping to save the clan through a marriage alliance, Shiyiniang is selected to become the wife of Yongping Duke and great general Xu Lingyi. Things were not easy for Shiyiniang due to the Xu family's biases towards her. Nonetheless, she manages to win over their trust through her optimism and sincerity. Xu Lingyi also becomes attracted to Shiyiniang's various beautiful qualities such that husband and wife manage to find love after marriage.

@@analynmantos999 I dislike the grandmother. She lacks ability to make the right judgement about people and she did too many evil things. Normally in Chinese dramas, all the people who did evil things are punished and she has got away scot free! I therefore do not like this aspect of the drama.

@@zhangruyi3153I get your frustration. She made quite a mess for everyone. But the way I see is that everyone in the drama got a chance to redeem themselves. I think that is the point and message. Madame Xu was foolish and gullible and even though she thought she did things with good intentions, those things ended up creating problems because she was abysmal at reading people and too stupid to think her schemes through thoroughly first. She finally came to see Shi Yi Niang's good qualities and redeemed herself by being willing to risk herself and her clan's standing with the emperor to do what was right and came to the defence of Shi Yi Niang. Even if she wasn't able to do much, she was there to publically stand up for Shi Yi Niang and delay the execution. At least at the end she learnt to drop her meddlesome ways after realising that she is grossly wrong in everything and should just leave things alone. Plus they also live in a society that honours filial piety so even if she didn't learn anything, there's not too much her son can do to her except to retire her to a country property that has a bit of distance from them. Yeah, I still get where you're coming from though.

It’s the first drama that I’ve watched where the second male lead isn’t evil and that the jealous sister redeemed herself. Overall, enjoyed it a lot.

Absolutely loved this drama! Loved how when something arises that they had to solve, they didn’t drag it out for many episodes. Every episode had a nice flow. I never watch any movie or drama for the past 6 year's I'm 32 this year my life intention of being enjoy is more into peace and relax. One day just to be happen I open my tv and for the first time I feel I want to watch a movie called Tom and Jerry but when I click the play button the tvbox suddenly show me a Chinese drama called The Sword and Brocade ep 1. So I just let it play and I just put my eyes on the tv screens.. when it's starts to play..I feel straight away this is a great story drama ,and yes I'm so amazing with this drama storyline..

I'm back watching it I think 🤔 the fourth time! 😂 It's entertaining and from intro music 🎶 to end it is an excellent job!

No...this works, because it fits the story line, which is second marriage for the male lead to the youngest sister of his first wife. Wallace has the maturity, while Seven has the youthful look with baby face.

Shiyi is the real definition of *No weapon formed against me shall prosper* A supportive husband is a real gem to be treasured.. The end is as always as it should be *one man one woman* Like it that Sisterhood prevails Note Jealousy blinds reasoning and judgement Love Wallace ...Seven Tan and Daddy Tang Awesome drama it was.. I love that the drama had a good solid ending that extends past the end of the conflict and some time into the future. Most dramas stop immediately after the problem is resolved and we don't get to see further into the lives of the characters. Seeing them a bit older, still happily in love and successful is so satisfying.

Yes, unlike "Oh, My General" which fstt-forwarded too much into the future and skipped what would have been the thoroughly satisfying part of the Lady General giving birth in spite of leading her army in a fierce battle with the enemy troops while heavily pregnant.

I have watched a few Chinese historical dramas, and The Sword and The Brocade is in my top 10, and I rate it 10/10! Great male and female leads with believable acting/emotions, great supporting cast, drama held my interest throughout, beautiful costumes and scenery, and all of the aspects that are annoying in other dramas are absent here. This drama couple had genuine affection and trust for each other and were able to work through things, resolved the problems and crisis that popped up in a very satisfying manner, getting over all resentment and hurt which would have destroyed their relationship. I also really enjoyed the ending where they took the time to show everyone happy and living a loving family life. I will miss watching it now that I'm done. I will definitely be coming back to re-watch this drama.

此劇真係好正。我剛開始看國内劇，唔知鐘漢良騎馬如此有型。 此劇報景非常好看，選角非常出色，不此鐘漢良，譚松韻做得好，所有角色都非常好，故事流暢又無冷埸，真的好看。尤其大部用演員原聲（雖然鐘的是佩音),但能聽到演員原聲真好。 主提曲及所有歌曲都非常出色，真的非常好聽。 我已在重看3次了。非常好👀

My second time watching this. Loved every minute. The eye contact is amazing. Wallace and Seven are so good acting together. Music was great how they went into the past story lines of the two. 这部戏虽然中间情节有点拖沓，可是从服装道具到演员选角演技都是满满的诚意。总的来说是部良心剧！

This was so well written with peaceful moments and surprising plots and twists. I love the characters, actors/actresses, and theme song. One of my favorites was Linbo, and I love the personalities and relationship of Shiyi and the Lordship...true love and caring for each other and people around them.

这部剧的结尾非常棒。按照大部分的导演，结尾可能定格于十一娘被救回家，苏醒，候爷说你怀孕了，然后剧终。这部剧的导演非常细腻，把十一娘和徐令宜婚后多年的幸福生活呈现给大家，让我这个剧迷幸福满满，喜笑颜开，回味无穷。我生平第一次看小哇演戏，非常精彩，魅力小哥，赞十个，👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Wow!! Amazing! I just finished watching this drama in 3 days and I thought it would be a shame not to leave a comment as it deserves so much praise. I loved the male and female leads. Their character development and overall chemistry was chef's kiss. The characters, the story line, the plot twists and the romance, from beginning to end there wasn't a dull moment. To top it all of the way the story tied off at the end was quite satisfying. What a journey it has been!! I can say with confidence that this drama is as of now one of my top 5. Thank you Tencent for uploading this with English subtitles and letting me be a part of this amazing journey. I have grown attached to the characters in the past few days and I still haven't recovered from this ride. I am sure I'll be left with these lingering feelings for days. If you find any dramas to recommend please do.

I rlly enjoy this drama like it is so emotional and it is perfect ending, the sister was evil but turn nice and I love how she cares about shiyi but makes an excuse about losing face 😂 I enjoyed this drama

What a journey! I love how this drama is very different from others. The Marquis and Shiyi were made for one another, but who would have thought at the beginning? He is such a supportive and caring husband! Erniang and her facial expressions made this journey fun. I appreciated the support from the whole family when Shiyi was about to be executed. Good job to the team that created this masterpiece and translated it. 😊

What a beautiful story of love. It's been a wild journey seeing these two clash when they first met, try and convince themselves that they were just going to coexist and nothing more, and then having Lingyi fall in love and woo his wife. Misunderstandings and mistakes along the way but in the end they both acknowledged that they need each other and their love made them both better people. I'm going to miss this pairing. Doubt they will star in another film together, but I'm so glad to have this one to rewatch over and over again.

Its worth mentioning the fun part of this drama is the interactions between Lingyi with Linbo and Zhao Ying. Then the scene of how they both directs a drunk Ling yi to his wife.... While waitin for episodes to be released i have watched this drama few times... I must say Wallace Chung and Seven Tan did a brilliant job... Ling Yi's soft talks.. was too good. I love the way Seven Tan's face lights up with a smile.. and her famous line, Hoye its you...

I wish she had a boy too. Only one girl! That’s sad! Her husband said he wanted many kids with her. She should have a son to take care of her at old age since she’s so much younger than her husband. I don’t think this ending was fair.

Wonderful series. Praise to the whole team. Apart from the fact that the characters are beautifully played, what impressed me is the representation of the femininity through the main female character. Today, when the qualities of womanhood nature are less present in the society, awakening and promotion of the true womanity is necessary. A wise, noble, restrained, upright, non-impulsive, worthy woman with character and integrity is a real pearl. Congratulations on the vigilance created by the Awake Female Aspect through the main female character.

Loved this drama! Wallace Chung is an excellent actor. Through his facial expressions, his eyes, his physical present , words fall silently conveying complete understanding. Thank you. Through all the trails and tribulations portrayed , love won in the end. Love entered my heart although not seeking , found my mind filled with thoughts of you, passion was burning seeking release in thou arms,no denying it is you that I want lying next me as the morning makes it self known, as the years quietly slip away

Was so totally in love with this drama after watching it earlier in the year that I just binge-watched it again from start to finish over the last 4 days....in the process noticed a whole bunch of new character developments that I hadn't paid attention to the first go-around....this has most definitely been one of my most favorite costume dramas of 2021....excellent job to the entire creative and production crew.

It's been so long since I've seen such a good show that leaves that lingering warm fuzzy feeling after it ends, i finished it in a few days and it's been a ride, when I remember the image of shiyi in the first episode it feels like it's been years, that's how well written this story is, felt like I've lived it with them, amazing chemistry, and now I have to go and figure out how to live my life without them, feels like they went away to live happily and left me alone 😭

I never watch any movie or drama for the past 6 year's I'm 32 this year my life intention of being enjoy is more into peace and relax. One day just to be happen I open my tv and for the first time I feel I want to watch a movie called Tom and Jerry but when I click the play button the tvbox suddenly show me a Chinese drama called The Sword and Brocade ep 1. So I just let it play and I just put my eyes on the tv screens.. when it's starts to play..I feel straight away this is a great story drama ,and yes I'm so amazing with this drama storyline..

我是第一次看钟和谭的剧，只看了一集就没看了，后来继续看下去是因为有一集他们成亲后的集情，候爷由冷漠变成一看到妻子就柔情万千，眼神里的欢喜由心发出，钟汉良把这种微表情处理完美，也完美演绎了一个只属于他的徐令宜，有时间会看看他另类角色的表演，徐和十一才是良配，哈哈哈😄

The perfect main female lead and main male is also wonderful. The supporting characters did a very great job. Every misunderstanding clear with especially communication, love, trust, support each other and kindness. So many villains but most of them not evil as we thought. Family members are not evil or not nice either. I love how they made sisters and other wives into the good person in the end. I LOVE THIS CHARACTERS, STORYLINE AND THIS WONDERFUL DRAMA. Thank you all supporters for making this drama.

My 3rd time watching and I only realized now how blessed she is. Marrying a husband with 3 concubines but she ended up the only wife. I loved it as if it was my first time watching it.

You meant “My Sunshine” starring Wallace Chung and Tiffany Tang. “You are My Sunshine” is a movie by Huang Xiaoming and Yang Mi. Clearly the drama is much better than the movie.
