Morikubo-san has a truly unique voice even for a seiyuu and I'm amazed at so many on-point imitations. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery etc., Showtarou-kuuuuuun.~

1:04 Sugita said "I'm a mayor" (町長), not a butterfly(蝶々). Japanese language has many homonyms. lol "I'm a mayor" is a popular line from an old JRPG, but I forget the title.

Sorry for a few inaccurate translations but sometimes the Morikubo accent was too strong and it wasnt that important. At 8:40 he says subaru's birthday is the same day as onoyu's and not the bullshit I wrote. Thanks to Nashi on the discord who pointed it out.

honestly i feel sad for morikubo shoutaro, he get imitated a lot. but then there is norio wakamoto where anyone who know him tries to imitate at some point in their life (me too).

Sugita often imitates Morikubo, Wakamoto and the late Ishizuka Unsho to the point where it's like a chore to him. His Wakamoto and Ishizuka-san imitation sound quite close to the real person.

reminds me of the first time i heard morikubo doing yosuke on persona 4 undub. dude's way of speaking is seriously unique sugita is crazy good with impressions, to nail all 3 characters in a single scene and he didnt even sound awkward at all. totally the same as the originals.
