It takes the Ukrainian military extraordinary efforts to deter Russian attacks along the front line. Often, it happens with the help of Western equipment. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty journalists visited the front lines and talked to artillerymen about their experience setting from Soviet weapons to NATO-standard ones.
Artillerymen from the 40th Separate Brigade, who work with the Polish self-propelled howitzer “Krab” in the Kharkiv region, said that this artillery could hit any target except airborne. They showed the journalists “Krab’s” combat work.
Reporters from the Donbas Realities project asked the artillerymen of the 45th Brigade, who are currently holding positions in Donetsk Oblast, about the peculiarities of working with the Swedish self-propelled artillery system “Archer.” The military said the highest accuracy is achieved when using a Swedish projectile to hit targets, while the ammunition of other manufacturers can produce an error of 10 meters.
