My wife is from the Albany area, and we visited this exhibit when we went to the museum in February. Having been associated with the fire service for over eighteen years, I was immediately in awe over the exhibit, and after hearing the audio/video stories of the 6 Engine guys who were there and lost their lives, my wife had to physically help me out because I was in tears and shaking. RIP to the fallen 343 brothers, including the men from 6 Engine.

I’m amazed that people have forgotten so soon after, even more as we manage another crisis. I’m in Canada near Toronto and remember that day vividly, with a stunning blue sky here too. Redirected planes one after another looping over my head waiting to land. I was supposed to go to NYC with my mom that Sept for the first time; birthday present after a tough year personally. That never happened. It was very disheartening watching NYC first responders not getting proper PPE, struggling with Covid-related PTSD yet again during the surge months back. Anyway, thank you for posting this: I knew of the story of Engine 6 company but didn’t know the truck’s story in going from Ground Zero to First Kills and finally to the museum.

This has inspired me to visit the exhibition and WTC site in the near future. Even all the way from Australia I feel that I need to know more and pay my respects for the brave fallen heros of 9/11.

I have always think about the Men, Woman and all that where within the WORLD TRADE CENTER on that unthinkable day. The Memory of all who where there and tried to save, the people within the two building are hero, They all put their live on the line to save as many people as they could. I want to thank each and everyone of them from the bottom of my heart, From one FireFighter to another FireFighter your all memory will live on. I'm returning back to college soon, with you all on my mind, to start a new Chapter of my life and to become what I always want to be Fire and Emergency Management.

I hope in a hundred years from now the same awe is cast on someone as it was I too see some of the plate armor from the USS Arizona with fist sized holes punched in it from a long ago battle and wonder what kind of fury could one have seen on that morning may it be 12/7/1941 or 9/11/2001. RIP 343 You will never be forgotten....EVER!!
