Yeah it's not the Nazi swastika. The swastika has been used for centuries in eastern religions as a mark of good luck and prosperity. The friend whose car this was is a practising Hindu and in Hinduism the swastika is a mark of prosperity and good luck. Extremely unfortunate that the Nazis took a version of it and then made it an infamous symbol in the western world for the evil they represent.

I tried to take the cover off but it wouldn’t come off, I undid both clips and slid it and tried to pull it off but it didn’t come off. Any advice?

Try to wiggle it around a bit when you try to slide it. Often over time its get stuck in there but if you wiggle it should come right off. Let me know if this works. Thanks.

If you drive your Mazda CX-5 often in dusty roads, you may have to change your engine air filter more often

Why does the engine cover have a swastika on it???

It was a friend's car. She is indian and practising Hindu. In lots of eastern religions (Hinduism, buddhism and many more ) swastika has positive meanings and considered to be auspicious. Often when people get a new car, home they put the swastika on it for good luck.

@@TheMrPoshboi Unfortunately the prominent association of the swastika is with the Nazis in the West. Which is extremely terrible. :(

@@TheMrPoshboi It is actually not a swastika it is a sauwastika (the difference being right vs left facing) and is common to Tibet and Nepal.
