An easy, old school trick if you suspect fuel in the oil...When you pull the dipstick, hold it vertical and let it drip on a piece of scrap cardboard. Let that sit and soak in. If there is fuel in the oil you'll see 2 distinct rings. The fuel soaks into and spreads in the cardboard better than the oil does so it will make a bigger spot and the oil spot will be in the middle.

I agree, they should have at least as many as the millennial farmer, and they don't push a bunch of stuff for you to buy. Everyone has a unique and funny aspect to their personality, and they keep it clean so anyone can watch. G-d bless them fellas.

Larsons, 813 videos, 396k subs since 2010. Laura farms, 465 videos, 504k subs since 2020. Millennial farmer, 591 videos, 1.6M subs since 2016. It's very obvious viewers don't find the content as interesting. More videos don't equate to more subs, quality of content will.

Nice dump cart! A recommendation: Be sure to keep those tubes greased and clean. Lift it up like your dumping it, scrape away any hard caked grease. Smear new grease to the tubes. As well as the grease points. Ran an 18 ton silage dumper for years. Helps the tubes slide so much better. Greetings from New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada! Happy New Year Larson Farms!

To start the paccar after you change the filters take a 19mm wrench on the fuel line going to the cylinder head and crack it open. Normally #3 fuel line is easiest to get to. Then use the hand primer pump and pump it till you get all the air out. It will have fuel for a little bit then you will hit the air pocket and just keep going till you have good fuel flow out of the fuel line then snug it back up and you can start it up. If you drained the fuel water separator then you need to open the cap on the top and put fuel in before hand priming it.

Good buy. You can use the dump cart for a variety of things. A second grain cart, right into the truck.

Combine got thru the season-- --winter is for fixing those issues that get found after the end of the season! It looks very clean up front but not so much towards the rear there!

I work for a tire retread plant. Find one in your area and see if they wanna buy ur casings. Get rid of ur “scrap” for money. Win win for everyone. Love the videos

Thanks for another great video Chet. It was an interesting one with lots of variety. Chet, your combine, what happened. Looks to me like you have some major engine problems. I like the way that Chris looked at it and said this is not good. Oh my. Could be a number of things but thankfully harvest is done. Please keep us posted on what the combine issue is. My thoughts think that possibly it could be rings are stuck or something along that line. Will be interesting to see what is wrong. Like the cart you got for hauling the black beans in. Looks to be in nice shape yet and good piece of equipment. Good buy Chet. Your storage shed is getting filled up. Amazing how easy it is to do that. A tire recycling company might take those old truck tires. Brody did a great job cleaning up the fold corn head and combine. He does great work cleaning. Chris is sure a great person to have on the Larson team. Very knowledgeable and fits in well with the crew. I trust Larson’s see the value in him and he becomes a full time add to the team. Jim Zeorian swears by the New Holland combines. I personally like the Case IH machines. One thing I know for sure, they are all good when they are new.. And they all break down. There are many new Claas combines showing up in my area.

I was a Kenworth mechanic and those paccars easy way to change fuel filters and not have that issue is to swap one fill with clean diesel install start truck run it for a couple mins then swap the second one. Ones the rail sees air it throws a code and will not start……. They also don’t have an electric pump like the Cummins motors to prime the system.

A good use for used tires is to dig out a gravel road or driveway lay the tires in the lanes/tire tracks for the truck tires and backfill with gravel, good to prevent washout or just to prevent weight/vibration movement, also good for holding back banks and hillsides for a retaining wall same proses on the backfilling the only difference stager each row of tires and use the set back method to prevent displacement.

Select a clean, white piece of copier paper, (off the dipstick) drop a little engine oil on the paper. After a few seconds, the fluid will spread, engine oil will stay in the centre, and fuel (if any) will spread around the outside of the oil). No spread - no fuel (or coolant). Have a great 2024. Chet, Chris and The Big Swed......... The easy fix to the Black Bean cart would be to unbolt the hitch and bolt it to the other end. Switch the tires. The hoses and wiring should be a fast simple modification.

That blow by if it's coming from crankcase is usually a sign of failed piston rings.

John Deere has not updated their piston rings with all the emissions stuff, they carbon up and break. Warren from Western Truck and Tractor will testify to this.
