Engineering A Kinetic Sculpture - String Powered Sine Wave

Күн бұрынUsing the art of engineering to show physics in its real life form. Using fishing line and a gear transmission, these 3d printed kinetic sculptures showcase how rotational motion can be transformed into the cyclical motion of the sine wave.
Designed in Solidworks and printed on desktop FDM 3d printers, this sculpture uses mechanical engineering principles to demonstrate the beauty of math and physics.

I love that you're able to translate these physics and mechanical principles and turn them into something so beautiful and mesmerizing to look at, which can easily be called art in my opinion! You're an inspiration to science and aspiring creators alike! Keep up the good work! 👍

I wish I saw your videos in high school. You’re absolutely right that making art that are perfect depictions of the laws of nature is the purpose.

Really cool, love the visual, especially the final form on the wall. I think it'd be cool to turn that into a clock, measuring the time using the crest of the sine wave.

My main printer is a Prusa MK3 but I also spread builds across a Lulzbot Taz Pro, Anycubic Mega, and an Ender 3
