For example, that own goal against Turkey, the defence was in disarray bc of the fear Ronaldo put on them. Ronaldo knows it’s time for guys like Bruno, Bernardo, Leao, Vitinha to step up.

So I was just a bit worried and wanted to get a easy path to the final but now we got this so now Portugal have to show that they deserve to win this tournament.

Italy didn't win Euro 2020 because of defensive play. They were one of the most entertaining attacking teams in the tournament, with players like Spinazzola bombing down the flank and Chiesa, Jorginho, Barella etc having standout performances. Anyone who watched Italy from the beginning of that tournament would tell you Italy was one of the best teams from day 1

Here's something that not many people are talking about: the biggest teams have many if not all their players tired. They all had very long seasons, they play in the best leagues in Europe, they are overworked. So its up to the managers to have the balls to introduce other talented players who still have the energy and the drive for this long competition. And so i hope to see a "new" side of Portugal today so that they can show fans and their managers that they can have the confidence to leave a Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva on the bench if they look tired.

What worries me about Jude is that next season they’re going to be playing without Modric or Kroos. Valverde is a must start as well as Tchouameni/or Camavinga which means the responsibility to control,manage, and be the source of creativity falls on Bellingham but I’m not sure if he can do that with how he’s playing in England as a 10 or in a 4-3-3 as well. We’ll see.

Brother you should be worried about portugal, they got France in QF and Germany/Spain in SF. As a Ronaldo fan I am so pissed at France, they could have easily won today's game and then Portugal would have avoided France. Now almost all the top teams are on the same side as Portugal. The other side of knockout bracket is so easy, only England and Italy are good there. It's modern football. The attackers have evolved in some way that, you need better defenses and need to focus on them, this is a product of Ronaldo and Messi that, for so long have destroyed defenses, it all led to this. You can attack and score many goals but, what is that good for if your opponent scores the same amount of goals or more because you are focused in attacking? Nah man, England are playing like absolute trash. Once they face an actual competent team like Portugal, Spain, Germany or France it is over for them. Southgate does not have the slightest clue on how to play tactically.

The last thing I would want in this world is Ronaldo's luck. The guy finished 1st in the group and still got France, germany and spain in knockouts and Turkey who finished second got the easiest teams in knockouts. Ronaldo has always been unlucky especially in international tournaments. 2022 WC came during the worst phase of his life and in all other WCs he had below average team. Look at his rival, got 5 pens in last WC, got players like Di Maria, Martinez, Alvarez around him. It was always hard for Cristiano Ronaldo. This makes me appreciate him evern more that despite this much bad luck, he didn't let his luck decide his fortune and now he is definitely one of the greatest players of all time (Greatest player for me)

France only won the first game with an own goal from the other team, tied the second 0-0, and tied again 1-1 (with a penalty). Yeah, very scary.

Can't lie everyone is hating on England which is justified as their midfield and attacks have been horrible but nobody is talking about their defence, you can't deny that their defence is too good, arguably the best in the tournament right now. In Denmark game, Denmark only had 1 big chance against them and it is similar to their other 2 games. They haven't easily given any chances to opposition to score. So if they find a way to score even just 1 or 2 goals every game, they can be very very dangerous.

The irony is not lost on me, given how Englands attack was meant to be the force to fear and our Defense was meant to be shaky as hell. Guehi has proved himself in place of Maguire i think. And Luke Shaw is still injured so that left Back position is still not up to scratch. If anything happens to Trippier we have no left back right now. Declan Rice will have to come back to cover the defense. We were meant to see an all star perfomance with Kane, Saka, Foden and Bellingham, but they just cant seem to break through. Kane keeps coming deep to cover he midfeild which means theres nobody up here to take the ball. Palmer did more in 20 mins than most of them did in the last 2 games. My only coselation is that France have also been disappointments. At least it's not just us. So have Belgium I like to THINK we can get our team in order for the knockouts, but i am having my doubts. Southgate just cannot manage this team. It is nothing short of abysmal.

Personally, i think this tournament ball sucks ass. I never saw so many trough balls end up long and out the pitch. Every single match i see talented players making long passes that should connect with the run of the forward but it just keep rolling out of the pitch. Same thing with long shots. Just pay attention to the % of balls who just fly out of the stadium. I never saw that before. It even sounds like one of those cheap balls you buy at the beach. I know i can't be the only one seeing this. Now, this doesn't mean that teams have issues of their own because they do. But against closed down opposition, you need those crosses, long shots, free kicks and trough balls to be very precise as there is no space. I keep thinking that the ball either sucks (wouldnt be the first time they screwed it up) or players have lost all their abilities.
