This video is good....Win or Lose this World Cup is showing well in many countries and can do nothing but benefit the next generation.....The 99 WC team effect on USA girls is showing right now in America This team were 10 to 12 years old ....Young English French and Italian girls are benefitting from their countries great showings The coolest thing is they can be themselves. They're good enough. They just need to start believing it. 3 years ago and although i didn't like him as a coach, he could see the potential in those girls. Not all of that squad are still there. They no longer play for England for a variety of reasons, but they were as good as they could be , at the time. 3 years down the line, the WSL is pro , Premier league teams are supporting the women , the tv is supporting them, the fans are supporting , and we have the best coach of a womens team , Sarina Wiegman. Football is a funny old game. We have won the Euros , we " could " win the WWC . Only time will tell. Sarina has coached the Netherlands to a Euro win , and a WC final. She has coached England to a Euro win, and we hope , to a WC final AND win it. They're good enough. They just need to start believing it. The fans know they are good enough , and the fans believe it. Phil did a great job in getting the girls to buy into the team and giving everyone a fair chance to play but he has to commit to a “best starting 11” or maybe 1 or 2 changes according to the opposition per game but the winning formula at the highest level is familiarity, cohesion and knowing your teammates strengths and weaknesses, that’s why the US has an edge them , player for player I thought England had the deepest squad but America functions the best as a team because they starting 11 almost never change. There’s still a big enough window for England to win euro or next World Cup with the core of players they got but personally when the likes of steph, white ,bronze and Scott careers near the end , England may not be a top team for awhile. Didn’t care to watch women football till this summer but England won my heart with their play and I was rooting for them. Phil over coach this team , hopefully he adjust and commit to a starting 11 in the future. Steph and Lucy are the heart and soul of their defence , Millie is a big and strong defender and she’ll improve, Alex g is better suited for a midfield role, she’s a great passer of the ball, Fran disappointed somewhat at the World Cup didn’t think she was in top shape or form. White was a monster and Paris played well, mead also was very reliable.

The intense staffing and support the new coach gives to the team is so admirable. If Toni Duggan had controlled the ball instead of kicking a long pass to Jil Scott, the match against Japan would have gone into overtime. The then coach had sent in Carney too late. He should have substituted with her and Fran Kirby midway through the second half. The championship match should have been between England and the U.S. in the last World Cup.

@travisstoll35824 жыл бұрын
I can see how you feel US is not humble. Let me offer another perspective. Our ladies are pushing for playing without being told they should just be lucky they can do this and not ask for more. (Newscasters are saying this in the US.) They have a winning history, but those in power and some media outlets still do not acknowledge this, and try to minimize their abilities. In order for their cause to be heard, they have no choice but to win and be loud doing it. (They quietly won 2 WWC and were praised for not wanting more. Change can only happen when people speak up. When they did not win Olympic gold in 2016, those in power and certain media outlets mocked them. They have to be perfect in order to ask for anything, and when they win quietly those in power (and the media) can ignore them as if it doesn't happen and as if no one cares.) There is a reason why the US is a powerhouse- Title IX (law) guaranteed young girls had equal funding to play sports as boys. Every team in the NWSL can beat her opponent on any night because national players are spread out, not concentrated on one star team. This tough competition every game improves all players. It took about 20 years before our girls showed this "luxury" as young women ('99ers) but now the culture is changing from "you can be the best with talent and hard work" to "you deserve the same respect because of your talent and hard work." The rest of the world keeps saying the US is winning because they have the money. They look to this example when discussing the need to find their women's football programs. But then what? The USWNT is asking for respect and higher pay. I hope they get it and pave the way for other countries as well.
@franktoledo93564 жыл бұрын
@@travisstoll3582 I understand asking for a pay raise but remember teen age boys beat then 5 to 2 they are noway in a league with Men. I think in 4 years England and other top European teams will be better than the US because they are already technically superior but just don't have the athleticism and mental toughness of the US team. If England can get more black girls playing football I think the US will never beat England again because once most athletic women start playing football instead of Netball, the US will struggle to beat a more athletic and skilful team. the US had 50 year head start on the rest of the world because female football was banned in most of the world including England and Europe till the 1980s

@@dinerouk The collegiate system fails in the men's game because the club academies supersede it and produce far better players compared to the American colleges. It only worked in the female game because the rest of the world was not full professional so the collegiate system was the most professional development system in the female game. But now clubs are starting fully professional academies for girls. It is game over in the female game for the college system because these new academies will start producing girls in 8 years on another level to any American out of the collegiate system.
