The result of this game was a surprise. Canada's performance during the World Cup wasn't anything to write home about, but I never thought England would actually pull off such a convincing victory.

Reason why Canada lost is because they did not have a true Center Forward. They tried Tancredi, Sinclair and Belanger all with No Luck. All the Goals they scored not one had an assist, all were rebounds and scuffle goals and a PK. They lacked a creative mid-fielder and at times just ran the ball up the field with no patience and creativity. England was Ok with them having the ball majority of the game knowing they don't create a lot chances or have dangerous players.

One time I was playing soccer at recess with some boys from my class when a guy in the other class walks up to me and says to the boys "why is she playing she's a girl" so my friends all said she's playing cuz she's good" so then he walks directly up to me and says "girls can't play soccer" so I said " if girls can't play soccer then why did Canada get into the quarterfinals... And what did the men's place oh ya they didn't even qualify he then walked away. So I guess the thing to take from this is no matter what your gender is don't walk up to someone saying they can't play for some people that is going to break them down and feel no good and for others it's gonna make them stronger (me!!)

Canada wasn't able to shot on goal and their defense till this match was good. It is a bit sad for the whole team, the country and all the supporters in Stadium. England did the job. I think it will be tough in the next match(es), but anything is possible in football ^_^ : big match against Japan and a at-least-even big match against USA/Germany. For the challenge i am ready to support England ^_^

There where 4 players of Canada that where really horrible. Sellemann Schimmd Chapman The goalie Erin ( 2 easy goals ) ( a normal good goallie had stopped those 2 goals ) If you had change those players you hade a chance to win the game against Inglaterra. With those 4 player you can play for Hundred Years and you wouldn't score a goal. And why is Adriana Leon not is the First team she is so good , weird choices of the coach. Those 4 horrible players had the most time the bal of all players of Canada, they did almost evrything wrong with the bal. That day was (MAY DAY ) for us -Canadian. We were chanting and cheering on that evening. Our sweaty day wasn't turned out the way we wanted. I don't want to blame who did the horrific error.. ?? Sessleman, I wish you could have cleared the ball that put England confident up and shoot the next one. That killed us. Until today, I could not read and see the players upsetting moment in the papers. It hurt.

Why were Canada and Zimbabwe the only two countries that made bids for this tournament? was the interest really that low from all the other participating nations? England, Australia, Japan etc?

I think that England's two goals at the beginning were made by play-side advantage as same as US vs Japan case. The Sun/Shade contrast of the BC place field of Canada's side were do drastic and counter light against goal keeper was terrible. Watch the FIFA video and you could know TV camera lost where is the ball due to overexposure.(0:23 for instance 0:31as well) US and England had major sun/shade advantage in the first half. even though Hope Solo lost by the visibility when she stood in the sun blasted goal by Japan at the beginning of second half.However, while Canada and Japan swapped the side, that counter sunlight have been moving to corner side.The condition was not equal even side change had be done. And I know that there is no Canada's and Japan's players or technical director complained about that as any excuse.

I thought Canada deserved to lose based on defending and honestly didn't do well to create goals. Sinclair's goal should've been dealt by Bardsley (who's had an up and down tournament so far). It is too bad to see them go out since the Canadian fans will lose some interest, but I'm glad England won, who I feel could still play better than they already are.
