Such a fantastic game of Rugby. I'm Irish and I also think England deserve a lot of credit and almost the title. I think all rugby fans no matter who they support will remember yesterday as something special. If the World Cup and reproduce this we are in for a great year.

Ireland is in great capacity to get to the semi-finals World Cup this year , they are 3 rd in world rugby rankings

Sam Gador If England can sort their discipline out, then I think they will be better than Ireland. With that said, the northern hemisphere's rugby hopes are with Ireland for the 2015 WC, but England are at home...

VR Review I'm Irish too. My God what a day of rugby that was. England do deserve credit - they knew what they had to do and they gave it 100 %- I must also give credit to France - they played for nothing but pride until the very end and it was great to see them fight until the end to keep England out even though it meant no difference to them. Rugby is a great game and for a small country like ours I think we should be so proud to be one of the best in the world at it.

If there's one thing we should take from this game, it's that we should always be playing attacking rugby like this. The defence left a lot to be desired (and cost us the 6 Nations, I'd say) but by god, this was a brilliant game.

loluntilmypie Exactly, I felt like I was a white New Zealand team play in attack, but our defence, as you said, was nothing to be admired.

Cheesemonkey To be fair the French actually played some rugby like the French of old. I think you'd be hard pressed to say that their 35 points was all due to inadequacies in defence

There was obviously so much "highlight" worthy rugby in this game. But it feels a travesty to leave out Lawes' hit on Plisson. That turned the game around and was a perfect fly half crunching tackle.

sweet chariot's never played on speakers. Here's the tryscoring anthem: Piranhas - Tom Hark from 1950s - 80s but twickers uses a more modern version, which I can't find.

I'd have said 3 key refereeing decisions cost England the title in that game. French wingers try, he wasn't in control of the ball as he touched down, France weren't 10m when Mike Brown took the quick tap penalty that got turned over and subsequently France scored in the opposite corner, and Haskell's sending off. If the ref doesn't stop it first time, the TMO isn't supposed to jut in and tell him he missed something. But, then again, if Frances kicking had been on target, the game would've finished closer to 55-50, so I can't complain too much. I am English though, so I would say those things...
@johnhayes56469 жыл бұрын
I would dispute two of those points anyway, Billy Vunipola knocked on for his try and it wouldn't have been awarded if Owens had gone to the TMO. Haskell's trip was a yellow card all day long, I don't think it's really arguable. Also I'd like to see more replays of Watson's try because if the ball hit the English player lying prone when it hit another players shin he would have been offside
@hc98709 жыл бұрын
John Hayes I'll have to have another look at Vunipola's try, I didn't notice the knock on. And while I'm not disputing that Haskell's trip was a yellow card, I'm saying the fact that Nigel Owens had played on, then for the TMO to take control and call him back to the incident, which isn't allowed. Also, for Watson's try, the ball comes off of Haskell's shin, so doesn't count as a knock on, and it would've hit George Ford, lying prone, and then Haskell would pick it up and offload to an offside Watson, however because the French player taps it after it comes off of the leg of Haskell then hits George Ford, and then onto Haskell and Watson, makes it a sound try.

I have, just not willingly or happily. But, Ireland did win, and they deserved too after a solid, if not boring, performance in the Six Nations. I can't argue with 10 straight wins under Joe Schmidt.
