This performance is what makes me wish that more of their Italian music was as big as their English songs because some of their Italian songs are just as good or even better than their English songs.

Nobody noticed that the meaning of (real) surnames of these guy are just amazing. The singer Damiano "David" (like the king of Israel), The powerful drummer Ethan "Torchio" (Torchio means press), The shiny guitarist Thomas "Raggi" (Raggi means rays) And the graceful bass player Victoria "De Angelis" (De Angelis means angelic)... Funny, isn't it?

Amadeus (the host) was the one who gave the Maneskins the chance to "take flight". it is he who has the final word on the songs participating in the Sanremo Festival. Going back to that stage, where it all really started, was the right choice. Also because they were able to take the applause that last year they could not have (the tratro was due to the covid). You can better see what a tearjerker of a rendition that was on the actual televised performance - it's available on vimeo (just google "Maneskin cantando Coraline - Sanremo 2022"). It was clearly very emotional for Damiano... and the whole time he kept looking to his right where his girlfriend was in the audience. He was blowing out his breath and wiping his tears during the instrumental bits, but couldn't hold himself when it ended. Heart-wrenching. I believe most of the people watching cried along with him, too (I was one of them).

The song isn't about his girlfriend. I think probably Giorgia(the name of his girlfriend) make him know the girl they call Coraline(i said they call baecuse Coraline isn't the real name of the girl it's just because it was more good with the music) beacuse he said the song wasn't about Giorgia

UK and US always have been having hundreds of good and great rock bands among the years so a band doing well is not something exceptional and us Italians from your point of view must look parochial and overexcited about Maneskin's success and probably a bit ridicoluous too but for us an act doing successfully in the anglosaxone world it's something really unique and when it happens it's probably concerning somebody doing opera, like Pavarotti, or pop-opera like Bocelli and Il Volo, having this success with a young rock band is something that happens once in a century and Maneskin become really true heroes in this istance, not to mention that they were able to achieve all this at such young age that we have great expectations for their future and we thrive for further excitement.
