Hi! I'm brazilian and your video helped me to study for my English Exam Thank you so much! Brazilian people say 'obrigado' instead of 'thank you'. 👋

Opa, sou brasileiro também. Mas não entendi a regra no uso dessas preposições dependentes. Esse assunto é o único que até agora não consegui, de jeito nenhum, aprender. Haha

Hi Claudia, it's not easy to know how KZfaq works but there are a lot of teachers doing the same thing, so I guess that is one of the reasons.

hello! i was wondering about the 9th one, could you use "around" instead of "with", or does it just depend on the situation? thanks
@ArtKayz
@ArtKayz 3 жыл бұрын
"Around" could work, too! Although it does depend on the context. To say that you are good 'with' people means that you're good at socializing with them - it's specific about the fact that you are communicating/talking/hanging out. To say that you're good "around" people is pretty similar, however, it more so has the connotation that you're speaking about yourself, and it doesn't imply that you will be socializing as directly as saying 'with' would.

You're a great teacher! I just met this channel and I loved it, but I have a question about the last one. Why I can't say "optmistic with"? I don't know with in the English language those two have so different meanings, but for me I can't see the point. ):
@Yourenglishweb
@Yourenglishweb 7 жыл бұрын
Hi, I would normally use the word with 'about'. It is a dependent preposition. However, people will understand you if you say 'with'.

Hi, in your examples you are using 'do' for emphasis. It is another way you can use it, e.g. I DO like the way you cut your hair.

I appreciate you are describing dependent prepositions but, for me, don't you think you need to look at what the prepositional complement is before you can decide what prep to use? For a non native speaker the whole idea of dependent preps the way you describe them just don't work so well. IN the beginning of your video on question 1 I have to look at "Melbourne" before I can decide which prep to use. Even you said that so doesn't the whole idea kind of fall over?

in spanish the usage of prepositions is easier compared to english, we are not as severe as you are!!
