Yeah, from the lyrics I whole heartedly agree but to me Daniel's voice is more like Sasuke's. It could also be Naruto to dead Jiraya or Sasuke(optimistically) to Itachi.

much of the lyrics are reworded or altered to fit the beat of the music. Literal translations of foreign songs almost never work and usually don't convey what kind of emotion the artist was actually trying to convey. At times, there are several versions of a translated song. It happens all the time with fansubbed anime.
