Well it is not a trick which we can play in real games. It's just a game played by 2 chess players

If black pushes f6, he is blocking off his g7 bishop, which is not that good for him. White can simply retreat the bishop to f4 and still have a better position.

@@ChessTalk Please pin this to the top of the comments. Lots of people are asking this. Would be great to point this out in the video, since it is an obvious question. And it does seem to foil the trap, if diminishing black's position. (How much? How does Stockfish rate the position after f6?)

Am i wrong in pointing out that this trap is an option for white, who plays the English (1.c4)? Therefore you can try this anytime you like because you have to play the English, not your opponent.

White is at a better position, what you can do is further disturb blacks structure. If f6 is played bring back your bishop to f4 and try to threaten a fork at C7 with your knight. Black will definitely try to protect it. There is no other options, you will build your tempo and will be a step ahead.
