Your studies sound amazing! I had my BA in English lit with a minor in linguistics (yep the opposite of your degree :D) I did the intro to linguistics and language history (philology) courses and descriptive grammar module too. Mine was 4 years though instead of 3. I'm in the last leg of my MA programme which is in literature and hopefully I'll finish writing the thesis before going insane!

Hi Laura! I'm quite new on your channel because I discovered it 3 months ago ;) And it's my first comment and of course I am really stressful about it :D But I decided that it's the highest time to stop being afraid and start writing in English :) Last year I finished my physiotherapist studies. I love working with people and helping them getting better. I am really happy when my therapy works and my patient feels better after treatment. I also want to tell you that my English is not perfect but I'm trying do my best - watching movies, yt in English and reading books. I am really happy I can came across your channel! So interesting Laura! After all these years, I finally know what "English Philology" entails! I did my B.A. in biochemistry, minor in linguistics (LOVE!) and my master's in speech-language pathology (love again!) I'd love to hear more about what you learned:)

Hi, Laura! I came across your video for the first time while I was searching for MA courses as an English major. I did my B.A. in English. I'm yet to embark on MA journey. I like Syntax, Phonology, Grammar and Psycholinguistics during my days in the University. I just finished my undergraduate thesis. I majored in lexico-semantic study. Here, I am. I'm currently undecided but I'm planning on going for radiology. I do have a big interest in linguistics since I already know 2 and I'm learning another now but I don't have enough information plus I'd need help with languages, so any tips? I am realy interested in your study time in Wrocław. this year I am ending school and I want to apply for studies in University of Wrocław. It would be nice to hear your opinion about the university and some difficulties which you probably had. And maybe you still remember, is your threshold was high because, now they have so many applicants and very little places in university which bothers me.

Hi Ola! Don't worry about the threshold because it changes every year and it also depends on the major. Focus on passing your end-of-high school exams as best as you can and then apply! When it comes to difficulties, I didn't have any uni-related - it was more related to my private life and outside factors. But you can ask me more specific questions and I'll try to answer them!

I love it actually :) I had some difficult times but I got over it. Linguistics is not my cup of tea 😅 I prefer culture, literature, and history more.

I'm at the English Studies right now, at Rzeszów University. I can see that we have different studying programmes, for example I had both comparative and historial grammar and both of them were compulsory. I also like linguistics, I loved phonetics while others really hated it XD my specialisation is translation. When it comes to literature, I hated it so much! Literature courses (both British and American) were the worst of all the courses. I was just praying to pass the exams XD How could you take all of the specialiations? There are just 2 of them at my university (translation and teaching) and we can choose only one.

So, as I've picked up from your videos: you are Polish, living your whole life in Poland, went to school there, and studied English at the university - and yet, you have a perfect American accent xD That's soooo cool :) I am Croatian, and I've also studied English, but I have the British accent :D My experience, btw, with Polish people haven't been quite good, I've always thought Polish people talked English poorly because of dubbing films on national TV. But, I'm thinking more on the line of an average Polish one can meet as a tourist.

it depends on the course structure and the kind of teacher you want to be - if you want to become an English teacher, you should probably be able find an English degree that will allow you to do a bonus teaching specialization 😊
